Thank you to everyone who watched my weekly live crafting video yesterday where I shared 6 different ways I combined the Fragrant Layers stamps and dies from Stampin’ Up! to create so many gorgeous floral cards! REPLAY is at the BOTTOM of this post!

Color Combo Suggestions

In addition to all the cards, tips and tricks, I also shared 9 suggested color combos you may wish to try out on your Fragrant Layers cards.

Eight cards display hand-stamped floral images in various color combos, each labeled with ink names. The flowers appear in red, purple, orange, blue, and pink shades, with green leaves, illustrating suggested color blends for "Fragrant Layers" stamps. Three panels show hand-stamped floral designs in pinks and reds with green leaves. Below each, handwritten color combos are listed for each look. The designs are labeled for layering flower stamps by Patty Bennett for Fragrant Layers flowers. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Idea #1: stamping solid image & outline

I used my favorite “Patty Colors” to stamp the bold image, outlined in black, then layered onto Strawberry Slush (Perennial Postage die) AND the adorable polkadots from the Made with Love designer paper pack.

A handmade card featuring red and pink flowers with green leaves, bordered by a white scalloped frame and set against a red polka dot background. A hand holds the card. “Patty Bennett pattystamps.com” is printed at the bottom right corner. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

For added color and depth, check out the video as I shared the 3 ways I stamped the flowers and added color with sponge daubers, like my Painterly Pears video.

Three panels show stamped pink flower images with leaves, labeled "3 Different Ways I stamped the flowers." Each panel demonstrates a different stamping technique using pink ink, with handwritten notes below explaining the method used. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Idea #2: stamp solid flowers with NO outline

And why not… Azure Afternoon flowers… so pretty!!

A hand holds a handmade card with a blue and green floral design. The flowers and leaves are stamped on a white rectangle, framed by a light blue border with a scalloped edge. “Patty Bennett PATTYSTAMPS.COM” is printed in the bottom right corner. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Idea #3: stamp solid flowers, outline & add die

A hand holds a handmade greeting card with pink and coral flower cutouts, green leaves, and red berries framed by gray and white rectangles. The card has a coral pink background with subtle floral patterns. "Patty Bennett" and "PattyStamps.com" are printed at the bottom. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

As mentioned in the video.. this die only cuts the flowers and leaves.. not the outside rectangle.. so cut your cardstock to the size you desire to create a “frame”. (or use a die like Perennial Postage, or Textured Notes).

A metal floral die is taped to a 3"x4" white cardstock on a gridded surface. An arrow points to the die cut area with text: "This die does NOT cut the outside rectangle, so I cut a 3''x4'' cardstock layer." A grid note reads "3x4 C/S. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Idea #4: stamp solid flower & add die cut

Adding the detailed die outline to the floral images is amazing.

Three handmade greeting cards are displayed on a gray wood surface. Each features a layered rectangle with colorful die-cut floral designs and green leaves. The cards have blue, pink, and red color themes and include a credit watermark “Patty Bennett Pattystamps.com.”. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

I cut the cardstock to 3×4 and then die cut the center – see the video for all these ideas in action and more details for creating cards with the Fragrant Layers bundle.

Three ink pads (aqua blue, light blue, and green) sit at the top. Below are rectangular floral die cuts and three stamped cards showing blue flowers with green leaves. Gray metal dies and finished die-cut pieces are also displayed. “PattyStamps.com” is watermarked. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Idea #5: use the outline die cut over DSP

Create a pretty watercolor look, or almost a stained glass look with this effect.

A hand holds a handmade greeting card with a blue floral border, scalloped white frame, and a die-cut overlay of flowers revealing a pastel pink, blue, and peach watercolor background. "Patty Bennett" and "PATTYSTAMPS.COM" are printed in the bottom right corner. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

The layer behind the floral die cut is from the Beach Boardwalk pack, and the background layer is from the Mixed Up Patterns pack. Layering with the Perennial Postage die is a fun look.. it reminds me of floral postage stamps.

A collection of handmade greeting cards with intricate floral die-cut designs layered over colorful designer paper rests on a craft table. Some cards display flowers and sentiments like "Thank you." A tip on the image suggests layering die-cuts over designer paper. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Idea #6: Die Cut Flowers Only

A hand holds a white card featuring layered pink and blue die-cut flowers with gem centers, green leaves, and a lace-edged circle with “thank you” in script. Behind, a pink patterned rectangle adds depth. Two more similar cards sit on a light surface in the background. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

I loved die cutting the floral images with the Pastels Shimmer paper! I keep all my die cut bits in these great containers while I’m working. Find more of my favorites in my Craft Room Amazon Essentials store.
