Thank you for joining me on my live video yesterday!! I enjoyed explaining how to use the Stampin’ Up! Friendly Foliage bundle. There are several ways you can use the dies to die cut the stamped leaf image to make beautiful handmade simple to stepped up cards!
Let me show you my Friendly Foliage cards & Tips
Below: create a very simple card by just stamping the leaf frame image onto cardstock. In this case, I die cut a shape with the Branching Out Dies. It’s layered onto Brushed with Beauty designer paper (all cards in my post today feature this gorgeous paper). This card also features the gorgeous Basic Beige cardstock base and ribbon as the neutral background.

If you missed the live video, please watch the replay posted at the bottom of this blog post.
Below: after stamping the leaf image onto Basic White Cardstock with Garden Green ink, I die cut the outside, then used Blending Brushes and ink to color that piece. I embossed the remaining layer with the Beautiful Patterns embossing folder, then pieced the die cut piece back inside, raising it with a Foam Adhesive Sheet piece.

Below: if you’d like to step up the stamped image, use the die that cuts the INSIDE of the image, then layer over some designer paper. I drew a border around the white layer with my Stampin’ Blend marker bullet tip end.

Below: the stepped up version features the leaf image die cut with the inside AND outline dies (you can cut them at once), then layered onto Brushed with Beauty paper. I tied it up with some Garden Green Chevron ribbon.

Crafting Tip: Use the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on this image to raise it.

Below is a recap of the 3 ways I used the dies. Outline only, inside only or both! Create them however you like, from simple to stepped up cards!

Were you surprised about 2 of my least used colors?
During the video, I shared 2 of my least used Stampin’ Up! colors and how I used them on these cards. They are Darling Duckling and Garden Green. I never used to use them much, but now I love them, especially on these Friendly Foliage cards.

Crafting Tip: tint the linen thread with a Stampin’ Blend marker. I used Darling Duckling to coordinate with my card.

These cards are so pretty! Thank you for sharing your incredibly helpful video and the follow-up tips in your newsletter.
Patty,
Loved your demo using Friendly Foliage.
I’ve been wanting to share a tip with you that I find helpful. You mention using magnetic sheets for your die pieces quite often. I too find them so convenient.
However, die sets with lots of pieces can so easily come up missing pieces and be put away while incomplete. To help prevent that loss, I copy the image of the entire die set and glue the paper to the magnetic sheet. When putting the sets away, any missing pieces are immediately apparent.
Hi Patty
Do you sell card kits?
Love this Friendly Foliage that you did January 2, 2026.
I don’t sell kits but you are welcome to click any of the product photos to order the supplies you don’t have.
