Let’s chat about the Square Snippets designer paper pack in the January – April 2026 Stampin’ Up! mini catalog! (find it on page 55 or online)

My Square Snippets Impressions & Solution

  • My very first impression when I saw Square Snippets DSP in the catalog: Oh my gosh I love this! What an innovative idea!!
  • When it arrived in my Stampin’ Up! order: Oh wow… this is just a little bit BUSY, what am I going to do with this?
  • Solution: Cut apart ALL of the squares, and organize them into colors, patterns, or vibes
  • NOW I can start creating with the color and pattern combos I love!
A variety of patterned and colored paper squares sort into groups by color or pattern on a grid cutting mat. Text above reads: "Square Snippets DSP suggestion: cut all the paper and group into colors or patterns before using. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)
A yellow square icon with rounded corners features a white lightbulb in the center. The word "Tip!" is boldly written in large, black letters across the lightbulb, signifying advice or helpful information. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Above: After cutting apart all of the 3″ and 4″ squares in the Square Snippets paper, I organized them by color and pattern.
Below: Then I grouped some of them into combos that I thought I’d like to use on my projects.

Four photos show a hand holding sets of colorful, patterned square paper snippets. Designs include florals, stripes, polka dots, gingham, and chevrons in various colors. Center text says, "DSP Combo Suggestions – Square Snippets. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

That is how I came up with the combos for my projects for our Luv 2 Stamp Team Event this month, and some additional cards I thought I’d share here today!

A handmade birthday card features a grid of four patterned squares on a teal background, with a circular "Happy Birthday" sentiment in the center adorned with small flowers. The card and floral-lined envelope rest on a textured white surface. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Cutting some of the squares to even smaller squares allowed me to limit the amount of pattern on this card. I layered each small square onto a small Stylish Shapes white die cut.

A handmade birthday card with floral and striped pastel panels, overlaid with a large pink banner reading "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" in bold black text. A yellow "Tip!" icon suggests embossing the cardfront after attaching the four patterned strips. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

For the card above, I adhered 1-1/4″ strips of paper from this pack onto the Strawberry Slush Two Tone cardstock, then used the Beautiful Pattern embossing folder to give the whole front panel some texture. The flowers are fussy cut from one of the squares.

A handmade card with pink, red, teal, and floral square panels. In the center, a white diamond reads "YOUR SPECIAL DAY" in bold black letters, surrounded by burst lines. A black ribbon is tied on the front, and a white envelope with a dark chevron flap is behind it. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Above & Below: I used the same arrangement of 1-1/4″ squares as a background and decorated my birthday cards with the Joyful Squares stamp set and dies (see it on pg 54 in the January – April 2026 mini catalog). The greetings are stamped with Secret Sea ink using the Reason to Celebrate set… one of my current favorites!

A handmade birthday card features patterned paper squares in pink, red, teal, and floral designs, arranged in a patchwork style. A faux clipboard with "HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY" is centered, and a black ribbon bow is tied at the bottom. An envelope is behind. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Don’t forget the finishing touches!

Don’t forget to finish off the inside of each birthday card, and add some designer paper to the envelope flaps! I used patterns from the Mixed Up Patterns DSP pack for the flaps.

A handmade card with a decorative pink flap on the envelope and coordinating pink patterned accents on the card’s inside, lying on a textured white surface. The text on the card reads, "Don't forget the envelope flap and inside of the card!!. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

    • So happy you enjoyed them!! I did do a video presentation/class for my team with these products, so I won’t be doing another one for YouTube, but you can get a ton of cards out of this pack! I cut the 4″ and 3″ squares into 1-1/4″ strips and squares for these cards.
