That burnt rose is just too sad to keep looking at, so I decided I better get something nicer posted to my blog today. This is a project I worked on last fall after taking photos of old family quilts. My brother and I have quilts from both my mom and dad’s sides of the family, and I thought it would be nice to document them all in a Stampin’ Up! On Board Journal. I included copies of notes my mom had written about each quilt and photos of the ladies who made the quilts whenever possible.
For the cover of my journal, I collaged bits and pieces of paper from the Timeworn Heirloom paper collection in the Stampin’ Up! catalog (pg 206). The images on the printed paper look SO real! After applying the papers to the cover with the Stampin’ Up! Anywhere Glue Stick I used the sanding block on the edge of the journal to give it that "worn" look.
For the inside cover of the journal, I took a photo of one of the quilts and used photo editing software to "washout" the photo, then printed it on regular computer paper, and used it as my own designer paper!! {kinda clever, don’t ya think?}
Here are a few pages from the inside of the journal:
There are a few more pages from this journal on my MyStampingSpot website .. you can see them if you scroll down a little ways on that page. Enjoy! Have a GREAT day.. and stay cool!
