Remember I teased you with a photo of the die cut flowers for my upcoming swap card… and here is the completed card I submitted for our Summer Mini Catalog Control Freak Swap:
The background is a piece of Old Olive Cardstock stamped with the leaf stamp from the brand new TROPCIAL PARTY stamp set – you will find this set in the Summer Mini catalog. {{to my customers: if you don't receive your Summer mini catalog from me by May 3rd, please contact me for a replacement }}
I used the Top Note Die and the Big Shot to cut out Whisper White cardstock and printed paper from the new ISLAND OASIS Designer paper – also found in the Summer Mini catalog 🙂
I stamped the flowers and greeting on the top 1/2 of the Top Note Die with stamps from the new Tropical Party set… the greeting is from "On a Pedestal" (regular catalog, pg 71).
For the paper flowers, I used the new ISLAND FLORAL die and the Big Shot (yep, also in the Summer Mini catalog) and also layered them with punch outs from the Fancy Flower punch (still available in the Occasions mini) and the 5 Petal punch. For each flower, I sponged the edge with the same color as the cardstock, and curled them under or "up" using a Bone Folder.
I spritzed them with the awesome new VANILLA SHIMMER Smooch Spritz Spray in the upcoming Summer Mini catalog… stay tuned for more info on those fabulous new spritz sprays!!
I ordered the Tropical Party set in the CLEAR MOUNT option, so I could see where I was stamping my flower onto the small So Saffron die cut… very fun!! Rhinestone brads complete the center.

Wow Patty, what a bright, festive Card. I love it! I would have never thought to put all of those colors together on one card, but you really made it work. Love your flowers, so happy looking, and the Rhinestone Brads really make them “pop”. For the DSP, did you cut a whole Top Note Die out of the Big Shot and then cut it in half? I’m not quite sure how you got only half of the Top Note? Still having a great time Cruising? Were expecting severe thunder storms today. Bummer.
