Nautical Expedition – Stampin’ Up! style

I played with the images from the Nautical Expedition Designer Paper and the Open Sea Stamp set.. both brand new from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini catalog.

I have been cutting back on spending due to hubby still being unemployed, so instead of buying the stamp set and DSP I used the digital versions of both of these items and made several Nautical cards.

The background and the ship are printed in My Digital Studio, but i added Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine (#123125), Ribbon (#121884) to the left edge, and sponging around the punched out ship image.  You could recreate something very similar with the actual Nautical Expedition DSP (#122343) and the Open Sea stamp set (#122030 or 123032).

BELOW: I played up the orange  more on this one with the sponging and Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta ribbon

When I print quick things like this at home, I use my Epson R1900 photo printer.. but most of my MDS Cards are printed through the MDS Stampin' Up! printing service.
