This holiday weekend I am packing my family up and moving back to the US from Bavaria. Back in Massachusetts for school to start. I have been away from my crafts for 3 months so new stamps would be so exciting!
Family cookout and activities . Also some projects that I want to get done in my craft area . A great weekend ahead !!
This weekend I will be doing lots of chores, trying to catch up from a very busy August full of travel. I will also be doing some swimming, biking and running since it is my last weekend of training before my triathlon. Hopefully I’ll also find some time to craft. I will be “settling in” to my home -away – from -home at school in preparation for my first day back to work on Tuesday following the longest break I have had since before I started Kindergarten as a student myself 48 years ago! My weekend is not going to be very exciting – my oldest son who lives in an adult family home came to visit last week as we had our local celebration at the park. Food, carnival, craft show, parade – all fun things. So this weekend I am finishing my new doll (and friends) and catching up on my papercrafting and apartment cleaning. This weekend I am so blessed to be home and spending time with my family. We live in Groveland, CA in Pine Mountain Lake and were under mandatory evacuation for the better part of last week. Thank God my house is still here, and all my Stampin’ Up stuff! It’s too smokey to go outside, so I think I’ll stay inside and do some stamping!

Patty you are so kind!! This weekend we’ll be having breakfast tomorrow morning at Cracker Barrel with my youngest daughter and her husband and 2 babies. Then hubbie and I are off to BassPro to let him spend some $$$. Then visiting with my order daughter at the campground! On Sunday it’s church and dinner out with my sister and her husband. On Monday, just a regular day here, hubbie has to work!

This weekend we will be taking our almost 11-yr-old grand-daughter to the Science Center here in St. Louis, MO to see an OmniMax movie about ‘Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs’. We were going to an outside Japanese Festival at the Botanical Garden but with our temps lately almost reaching the 100s we opted for inside with A/C!
Sunday is church in the morning and our usual ‘splurge’ breakfast at St. Louis Bread/aka Panera afterwards. Then we’ll be packing up to head down to our lake house about an hour south and relax a little bird-watching and maybe throwing in a few crickets & worms to the fish! Don’t have the heart to catch them.
Then on Monday my granddaughter and her family will be joining us at the lake house to do a few painting chores outside and then us gals will enjoy making some new cards after lunch – I may even get a good start on my Christmas cards too. My granddaughter loves to make cards with me and takes ‘kids’ classes from my demo. It’s a wonderful way to pass down some of my old stamp sets that I don’t use anymore – she’s had so much fun with the gnome set.
I hope you and your family have an enjoyable and relaxing week-end. I love reading your blog, seeing all your beautiful floral bouquets, and getting so many wonderful ideas from you and your gals. I went to the ‘big M store’ today and was lucky enough to find the pretty notebooks you featured the other day and bought a bunch of them to make for little handouts at Christmas. Also, congrats on your honors received at SLC…I’m sure there was much hard work involved to get to that level.

We just bought living room.furniture after talking about it for 15 years!! i will be trying clear my stamping stuff off of the table i set up in the hallway so we can move old sofa out and new in. Oh, for FUN. This holiday weekend I’m spending time with my family… Our two sons and our daughter, their spouses and their total of 7 grandkids will come to our home about 4 hours away in lakes country. The kids all bring a meal or two and we provide the salads and grilling. It’s LOTS of fun and nobody is ‘stuck in the kitchen all the time.’ Great adult kids to think of this ideas. We pontoon the lake, jump off the boat at the sandbar, eat together, make a campfire and s’mores every night. Kids love the beach and make a point not to litter. They thought of the idea to get a large garbage can down b the lake so it’s easier for them. LOL

This weekend we are going camping and fishing up in our beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. We may even drown a worm or two and hope for some big trout.

Thanks for the chance to win these stamp sets. Just got home from working the concession stand at the high school football game. This weekend we have a huge family gathering for our Fantasy Football draft. The entire day is spent having bean bag tournaments and playing baseball with the kids. Then we all bring food and have a fish fry from everyone’s catches of the year. At the end they have the football draft picks. Besides Christmas, this is the time we are able to get as many extended family home to visit so it is always something to look forward to. Hope you have a super holiday!

Our weekend started tonight with a surprise 75th birthday party for my husband. There were about 100 people there – a lot of old friends who made it really special. Like the couple who fixed us up on a blind date! Our son is a musician and his band entertained. My husband did not have a clue, he was so surprised! Tomorrow we are invited to a party at friends, and they have hired my son’s band to play! Sunday, family get together. Rest Monday in preparation for an ablation procedure on my heart on Tues. We will be busy, but hope to stamp a little along the way! Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday!

The weekend already started out great as my family spent the evening at Dodger Stadium for my husband’s birthday. There were even fireworks at the end. Tomorrow will be filled with more wonderful family time for my parents’ 65th anniversary. I am very blessed and have so much to be thankful for!

This weekend I will be finishing up all the lst minute stuff for my preschool classroom that I work. I wish I could be making cards but I be playing with other types of paper to get ready for the cute and funny kids I will meet next week.
Today, Saturday, I am preparing my frosting and cakes to demonstrate cake decorating at the Shenandoah County Fair in Virginia. Tomorrow we will celebrate The Blessing Of The Vocations (and hobbies) at our church observing Labor Day. One of my Stampin’ Up cards will be on the altar for this blessing, as well as my stethoscope. (although retired, I volunteer weekly at the county Free Clinic. The St. Paul Inkers will gather to make birthday cards for our GOD’s GEMS (members over 75) and for others in the community in need of a ‘greeting’. Family time with a celebratory meal (and relaxation – resting up for the weekend on Monday.
I will be stamping and scrapbooking with a friend coming over to spend the weekend. I would be thrilled to win stamps, especially the thankful set and share Christmas with someone else!

We’ve got a busy weekend scheduled. Today we’re looking for cleats and shin-guards for my son’s for soccer. Sunday we’re going to my parent’s for a cookout and then to a friends house for another gathering. On Monday, my good friend Jenn and her children are coming to CT from NH. We call it a play date but the children soon realized it’s more for the mom’s than the children. We pack our stamping stuff and visit each other as often as possible; sometimes it’s overnight visits! Just planning a quiet weekend with my husband. This was my last week caring for my 6 yr old grandson who has autism, which keeps me very busy, he will start school again Sept. 3rd. He does enjoy stamping with grandma, stamping the jolly bingo bits and the spooky bingo bits then punching them out with the 1 inch circle punch. If you are not familiar with autism, they enjoy doing the same think, so grandma had 100’s of circle punches in the craft room some stamped and punch very good but alway in red ink ! Well anyways, I am stamping, creating and doing some organizing of my craft room this weekend. I received my SU order yesterday so I am checking stuff out, trying stuff and figuring what to order next!!

I am recovering from lung surgery and since its so hot here I will probably stay inside and watch a lot of football with my husband. And I plan to get some stamping done and nothing is better for a stamper than a new stamp set!! Have a great holiday weekend.

Hiking in the woods, floating down the river, table games, campfires, s’mores and mountain pies. A fabulous time away in the wilds!

I took my daughter to work yesterday to help me build operable louver shutters. Then we went shopping for school clothes and had an early dinner at a 50’s burger and shake place. We both agreed it was a perfect day! Thank you so much for all your inspiration. Hope you have a great holiday.

I say that it is MY holiday, because I was born on Labor Day, only in the year 1930. Yes, that makes me an OLD person!! I have new “Snowflakes” sets and “thinlits” to go with, so that’s the way I’m spending My holiday, and My birthday…..doing what I love to do!!!
