Our theme this month:

Stampin' Up! Annual Control Freak Convention Swaps

Each year at Convention The Control Freaks Group has a great time getting together at lunch and swapping special cards with each other.  Our tour this month showcases the cards we swapped with the Control Freak Group at lunch on Friday!   You have probably reached me after visiting Wendy Weixler's fantastic blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! 🙂

My first card uses a new Embossing folder in a very different way!

HOW TO:  To achieve this look, apply White StazOn ink from the ink pad directly onto the embossing folder, place your Basic Black cardstock into the folder, close the folder and just press with your hands.  DO NOT emboss it.  You could emboss it, but to get this look you are just transfering the ink!

For this embossing folder technique, you will need:

Embossing Folder: Lovely Lace, pg 227, #133737

White Staz On ink pad: pg 211, #106960

Basic Black cardstock: pg 183, #121045

The floral focal point is stamped with the Beautiful Bunch stamp set on Calypso Coral cardstock in Calypso Coral ink. It's punched out with the Fun Flower Punch. 2 flowers are layered together and the center is stamped and punched as well.  The leaves are actually the same flower stamp, but stamped in Old Olive ink on Whisper White paper, punched out and then each "flower" is cut into 1/3rds and used as pairs of leaves!

Beautiful Bunch set, pg 158, #134279. Fun Flower punch, pg 219, #133785.

7/8" Scallop punch, pg 220, #129404

The accent on this card is the new Sweet Sadie Washi Tape, pg 190, #133690.

The black card front is mounted onto a folded Calypso Coral card.

At our convnention lunch swap, we always swap 2 cards.. this is my 2nd card.

Although the Vivid Vases stamp is not new, I did color it with the Blendabilities Markers which ARE new and are fantastically fun to use!

The Vivid Vases stamp (pg 167, #133818) is stamped on a Whisper White die cut created with the Party Pennants Big Shot die (pg 232, #133732).  I attached that to a piece of Blackberry Bliss polka dot paper from the 2014-2016 In Color Paper stack, pg 185, #133705) and that is on a Whisper White note card (pg 194, #131527).

The accent on the left side of the die cut is Washi Tape from the Beach House package, pg 190, #133689.

The Blendabilities marker colors I used (from Left to Right): Coastal Cabana (#131000), Daffodil Delight (#130998), Pumpkin Pie (#130997), Rich Razzleberry (#131003) and Cherry Cobbler (#130995). The stems are colored with the Old Olive assortment (#130999).

Each vase is topped with punched flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack pg 222, #133787.  I placed a pearl (#119247) in the center of each flower and colored it with the same Blendabilities color as the vase.

  1. Beautiful cards, Patty! Congrats on all of your achievements, too!!! One question, did you have to use the StazOn to clean the embossing folder after you are finished transferring the image?

  3. Yeah, that’s what I’m curious about too! How did you get the permanent ink cleaned off of your embossing folder?? I’d imagine that the staton cleaner would be an oily mess!!
