For and Easy way to die cut the Butterflies Thinlit with your Big Shot
I die cut the butterfly in Pool Party cardstock and then sponged some Island Indigo and Mossy Meadow ink on it. I added a string of pearls to the body after placing it on my birthday greeting card.
The tag was done by punching out a 2" wide piece of Whisper White cardstock with the new Ornate Tag Topper punch (pg 35 Occasions catalog), and then stamping with the new Butterfly Basics stamp set (pg 26 Occasions catalog).
The Butterfly Basics set and Thinlit Big Shot dies are available separately, or

Patty,
Your tip for cutting the butterfly thinlits using ONE DRYER SHEET and ONE LAYER OF WAX PAPER is THE BEST BY FAR! I’ve seen so many tips — and I’ve tried them all — but your method, including the tip about the dots indicating too thick of a sandwich, has worked over and over. Thank you! Now I can use my butterfly thinlits — and other intricate dies — with a smile, instead of avoiding using them altogether.
Just one question, how do you remove the residue on the cutting plate leftover from the dryer sheet?
Thanks for your kind words, Jeanie.. I agree it’s the best solution for my intricate thinlits!! 🙂 As far as any residue on the cutting pads, I just kept 2 pads for using with the dryer sheets and didn’t worry about any residue. I’m sure you could clean them with an all purpose cleaner and sponge if you wished. Thanks again for your comment! 🙂
Patty
Your card is absolutely BEAUTIFUL Patty!!! I just got done using the dryer sheet method (didn’t know about using the wax paper WITH it) and found that “USED” dryer sheets do not leave a residue on the cardstock. It worked perfectly!!! I wish I had watched your video prior to cutting for my class!!
I love this butterfly card! So pretty! I’ve seen many and this is one of my favorites. I also used your cutting technique with the dryer sheet, so thank you for the tip.
Your card is GORGEOUS Patty. I also love the technique for using the dryer sheet and the wax paper. I’m amazed on how well it works. Thank you so much Patty for giving us so much info.
What charming colors! 🙂 I was just saying the other day that the nice thing about this paper is that you can customize it; such as for a wedding or baby card.
Beautiful card- love the colors!
