Patriotic Baby Bear Card – Stampin’ Up!

Thinking ahead to the 4th of July, I thought I'd share my version of a patriotic Stampin' Up! Baby Bear Card with you!  I dressed up Baby Bear with a top hat from the Snow Place stamp set and matching Snow Friends framelit dies and used the Bow from the Baby Bear set as a bow tie!

Baby Bear is a hugely popular new stamp set, found on pg 61 in the new catalog.

I am so tickled that Stampin' Up! now offers gorgeous Real Red ribbon.. it's the perfect touch to pair with the Dapper Denim Rouched ribbon on my card, don't you think?  You'll find all the fantastic new ribbons on pages 178 and 179 in the new catalog.  Online Store shopping links are at the bottom of this post in the product image section.

The other perfect touch for my red, white and blue Baby Bear card was the Dapper Denim stars from the 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes package!!  Just the right pop of color and shine! You'll find those on page 177 in our new Stampin' UP! catalog.

In case you are wondering, here is the 3-color combo I used to stamp Baby Bear.  You can experiment with any 3 colors.  Just be sure you stamp the most solid image  in the lightest color.  I used:  Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.

TIP for stamping Baby Bear – stamp dark to light:  I found it So Much Easier to stamp the darkest image first, then line up the bottom outline of the bear with the next stamp in the middle color and then use the most solid image in the lightest color last.   I tried 3 times the "other" way (light to dark) before I discovered stamping it this way and then it came out great each time! yay!

I drew (dashed) stitching lines around my piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Dapper Denim Stampin' Write marker and my drafting triangle (available at Staples).

The background papers on my card are both from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.  Real Red and Pacific Point.  The folded  card is Dapper Denim.  I think these colors worked well together!

  2. I love your cute card. I have loved the stamp set, but now I really love it. I also like the hint you gave for stamping the three colors and in which order to make it work so well. Thank you for all you do.

Your card is just so darn cute!! I would not have thought to stamp him as a patriotic card. How very ingenious. You just do the best work. I loved this bear as I was looking through the catalog. Also to know the steps for stamping the bear with ink colors and in what order really helps too. Thanks again. Love your blog. Have a great weekend.
