Fall is nearly here! I cannot believe it's September already!!  So I thought I would share a cute little fall scarecrow with you that I created with the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set (pg 53 in the new 2016 Holiday catalog from Stampin' Up!) and the matching Cookie Cutter punch (pg 6, #140396).

I stamped the scarecrow onto a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock in Archival Black ink, then colored him with the Stampin' Write markers shown above.  For the head, I didn't use markers.. I used the AquaPainter shown above dipped in a tiny bit of Sahara Sand ink.  I think I also dabbed some color on his shirt with the aquapainter and the Cajun Craze marker.  Colors used: Marina Mist, Real Red, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry & Sahara Sand.

My sweet little note card is a Crumb Cake Note Card (pg 176, #133766) with a 3"x5" piece of Serene Scenery paper applied to the front to make it appear that my scarecrow is in the fields guarding the crops! 🙂

Crafting Tip: create a woodgrain look with the Stampin' UP! Timeless Texture stamp! by Patty Bennett, www.pattystamps.com

 TIP!  See photo above..

To make the pole that my scarecrow is on, I cut a 3/8" skinny strip of Kraft cardstock and then stamped it several times with both Early Espresso and Soft Suede ink and the Timeless Texture stamp shown above!

You might think the coloring on the shirt is kinda messy.. but that was intentional.. I wanted him to look a little tattered from being out in the weather so it's watercolored with a bit of a dabbing motion to look kind of worn.

You'll find the Delightful Dijon ribbon in a 3-pack on pg 47 of the Holiday catalog (#142021), and it's a great compliment to the fall colors on this card!

The crow is also in the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set, and is cut out by hand with Paper Snips.

Easy card, fun to color, easy to punch out.  :)

The Happy Hello stamp (also in Archival Black ink) is from the Tin of Cards stamp set.. one of the BEST stamp sets you can invest in!!  Click Here to see it!
