Have you ever bowled a 300 game?

It's a BIG Deal.. I mean a REALLY BIG DEAL!  Bowling a perfect 300 game, is a REALLY big deal!

If you are a bowler or you know one, you know that a perfect 300 score is very rare.  I've spent many hours in the bowling alley over the last 30+ years and have never seen a 300 game in person, but my husband's boss bowled a perfect game in December, and I just HAD to make him this congrats card!!!  He texted us the moment he was done with his game and we texted right back.. amazed and SO happy for Justen!  Then I made this card and sent it in to the office for Justen.  I think he liked it 🙂

Since this was a very special occasion, I made the card base out of Copper Foil sheets!  Not something I'd normally do but it was worth it for this celebratory card!

I die cut the Mr. 300 using the Stampin' Up! Large Numbers and Letters framelits and Copper Foil Paper and Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper.

I also die cut the congrats using Real Red cardstock and the Sunshine Wishes thinlits and my Big Shot.

I added them all to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals so it would stand up and make a statement!

For the inside of the card, I stamped the image from Marquee Messages in Archival Black ink and then colored it in using my Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write markers.  I stamped YOU ARE in Bermuda Bay ink and AWESOME in Real Red.

I googled bowling shirts for design ideas and "copied" a very traditional looking bowling shirt design and created it with my new T-shirt builder framelits and the matching Custom Tee stamp set – both found on page 30 in the 2017 Occasions catalog.  Save 10% when you buy them together as a bundle!

Below: the buttons, collar and stripes are all stamps in the Custom Tee stamp set.  I die cut the shirt in Whisper White, Basic Black and Crumb Cake and then just "pieced" them together in layers.

  2. That’s amazing!! Not the 300 game (although that is amazing , too) but the card you made! I cannot imagine Justen’s surprise on receiving it. There aren’t too many bowling cards out there, so I’m sure he wasn’t expecting something like that. What a super thoughtful way to celebrate his achievement.
Yes, I know how exciting that would be. I was a bowler for a few years, and was far from ever rolling a perfect game!

  3. What a fun card, or should I say how fun both cards are. Love the ingenuity! Also love the picture of you and your husband. So cute. Hugs and Happy New Year.
