Hey, Chick, Happy Birthday!!!

Hey, Chick, Happy Birthday!! :) This fun chicken set has really set the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration world on fire.. it was the first Sale-a-Bration set to go on backorder this year as far as I know!!! :) That totally speaks to its popularity! (You'll find it on page 27 of the Sale-a-Bration brochure this year).

My friend Cindee and I loved a card our Stampin' Up! friend Billie Moan did similar to this and one day when we were stamping together, we created "our version" of Billie's card. Thanks Billie for always being an amazing inspiration!

To create the fun chickenwire background pattern, we swiped the Soft Suede ink pad over one face of the inside of the Hexagons Dynamic Textured embossing folder, placed our Sahara Sand cardstock panel (4" x 5-1/4") inside the embossing folder, then just pressed with our fingers. That's it.. no "Big Shot embossing". What a perfect background for these fun chickens!!

As you can see below when you use this great Hexagons Dynamic Embossing folder with cardstock or foil paper in the Big Shot it creates AMAZING, fabulous, detailed embossed images!!! Below, I used the Silver Foil Paper, Copper Foil paper and Basic Gray cardstock.

We stamped these silly chickens with Archival Black ink on Stampin' UP! watercolor paper squares die cut with the Stitched Shape framelits, then colored them in with the new Stampin' Up! watercolor pencils. Oh boy are they DIVINE!! I love them!!! We blended the colors with an AquaPainter. You can also use Stampin' Up! Blender Pens.. those blend the color perfectly, too!

Each watercolor square is framed with a scalloped Real Red square die cut with the Layering Squares framelit dies.

I turned my card horizontal, (Billie made hers vertical) and I stamped Happy Birthday from the Birthday Bright stamp set (page 13, of the 2017 Occasions catalog) in Soft Suede ink. I also added Red 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon to really make the bright colors of this card pop off the Sahara Sand background.
