I thought of my mom as I made this card… she loved any shade of blue and of course she loved flowers – I think that's where I got my love of flowers :) This monochromatic card is easy to make with the Stampin' UP! Falling Petals embossing folder, and Window Box framelit dies.
You could create this handmade card with ANY color combo.
I shared a similar card idea with you in THIS VIDEO TUTORIAL, where I put 3×3 designer paper pieces behind the die cut Window Box die opening, but as with this card today, you don't have to put designer paper behind the opening. I embossed the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Falling Petals embossing folder and just let it show through the die cut opening!
The flags are 1" and 2" wide punched with the Banner Triple Punch. I used a piece of the Sending Love Glassine sheets (pg 14 Occasions catalog) for the bottom flag and stamped on the Whisper White tag and popped it up on Dimensionals. The greeting is from the So In Love stamp set, pg 52 Occasions catalog. I tied up the card with some Emerald Envy ribbon.. I know it's not blue but I thought it was a fun contrast!

On my monochromatic card, I used Pool Party and Bermuda Bay… great blue combo. The top fold base card is 4-1/4" x 11" folded in half, and the embossed piece is 4"x5-1/4". The Whisper White piece that is die cut with the Window Box die is about 3-1/2" square.
This wonderful embossing folder can look like falling petals or lots of hearts.. depending on which way you turn the paper!! Find it on page 51 of the 2017 Occasions catalog.

What a beautiful card Patty! I love how simple it is to make that intricate diecut from the window box thinlits, and yet it looks just like a fancy laser-cut card that you would pay big bucks for at a store. I just got my thinlits, and I’m excited to play. Bermuda Bay & Pool Party are a couple of my “happy colors” – I might have to CASE 🙂
