I have some fun crafty tips for you today, for creating a cloudy sky, a Sandy Beach, and a fun punch art sun! I love the pop of RED on the Adirondak chair on my card today! Read all the details below so you can make one too! And don't miss all of the Stampin' UP! Supplies listed at the bottom of this blog post.
Not sure about you, but I would LOVE to be sitting in this beach chair right now! Can't you just feel the cool breeze, warm sun and the sand in your toes!? Well, ok, maybe not.. but it was a good thought 🙂
Tip #1:
Create a cloudy sky using the Stampin' Up! Pattern Party cloud mask and embossing paste (or you could sponge white ink over the stencil, too!)
And Bonus Cloud Tip: use a piece of printed background paper for the sky! I used a piece from the Naturally Eclectic DSP package (pg 188, #144185).
Supplies and Details to create this card:
- Card Base: 4-1/4" x 11" "top fold" card with Bermuda Bay cardstock
- Use embossing paste & cloud stencil on Naturally Eclectic printed paper for the sky
- stamp the "water" image from Fabulous Flamingo onto Pool Party cardstock
- Tear a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for the sand, and stamp with the Sheltering Tree image (see info below)
- Die cut the adirondack chair with Real Red cardstock (using the Seasonal Layers framelits)
- Create a punch art sun using the Starburst punch (details below)
- Add a 1/2" wide Whisper White "flag" punched with the Triple Banner punch and stamped with stars and "hello friend" both from the Wood Words stamp set, then embellished with enamel shape stars
All Stampin' UP! supplies used on this card can be found listed at the bottom of this post, and you can purchase any of them by simply clicking on the product photos. It will take you right to my online Stampin' Up! store.
I put on a really light coat of embossing paste to try to make the clouds look fluffy and wind blown. You can also put on a thicker coat of embossing paste and create thick white clouds.

Tip #2:
Create a punch art Sun: Use the new Stampin' Up! Starburst Punch and Daffodil Delight cardstock, then sponge the edges with a sponge dauber and Pumpkin Pie ink for a fun sun embellishment!!
Tip #3:
(above) Use the leaf image from the Sheltering Tree stamp set inked in Soft Suede ink to stamp on Crumb Cake cardstock to give the effect of sand!!! Tear the top of the Crumb Cake piece of cardstock for the finishing touch on your sandy beach!!
I hope you enjoyed this fun card idea!! I appreciate your order in my online Stampin' Up! store if you would like to purchase supplies to make some of these cards.
