Do you ever have one of those stamp sets that just kind of scares you a little?  And by scares you, I mean, you are just not sure how to use it or you feel overwhelmed?  I wasn’t sure how to use all the pieces in this set until I created this Elegantly Said card and was able to combine several of the stamps in the set on this card!  I was thrilled with the outcome!!  I showed it to my friend Tammy and she loved it! yay!

Direct to Rubber Technique

Above:  I used 3 Stampin’ Write Markers to add color to the rubber (called “direct to rubber”) and then stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock.  For the flower on the left, I used Poppy Parade and Cherry Cobbler markers for the flowers, and Evening Evergreen for the leaves. For the flower on the right, I I used Calypso Coral and Cherry Cobbler markers for the direct to rubber coloring.

Below: After stamping onto the cardstock, I used the same markers and drew a little bit of detail onto the stamped image (on the Vanilla cardstock).  I also fussy cut them with my paper snips.

The background of my card is a thick Very Vanilla base, with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of designer paper from the Simply Elegant 12×12 designer paper.  I Sponged some Basic Gray ink on the edges.  The 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ very vanilla piece has the big flourish image stamped twice in Basic Gray (but I stamped off first).

To create the flower “bouquet”, I layered the 2 fussy cut floral images, and then ended up stamping more of the flowers to fussy cut and add to the grouping.

The final touches were a strip of the Simply Elegant designer paper and a vanilla strip stamped with Happy Anniversary in Cherry Cobbler ink and a smattering of the Cherry Cobbler rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone package!
