Get ready for a high contrast POP of color with Night of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist on these fun Friend cards!

These 3 cards use basically the same Stampin' Up! Supplies but they all turned out differently depending on orientation, embellishments and card size.

I absolutely Loved the contrast of Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy cardstock.  What do you think? Too much?

The "Friend" die cut is from the "Lovely Words" thinlit dies package. Learn how to die cut and layer the Lovely Words thinlit dies – WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.  The friend die cut also features an oval stitched shape outline and is layered onto a scalloped oval Night of Navy (or patterned paper) piece for the high contrast wow factor.

Adding the bright Berry Burst die cut flower would not have been foremost in my mind, but I had an extra one on my desk and decided to see how it looked on my card and I LOVED the pop of color!  The center of the flower includes a Glitter Enamel shape to make it pop even more!  The flower and leaf are die cut from framelits in the Support Ribbon framelit die package.

Each card is created on a Lemon Lime Twist card base and featured a piece of paper from the Naturally Eclectic paper stack as well as a Lemon Lime Twist piece of cardstock from the Fresh Florals designer paper pack.

I added 3 blue Glitter Enamel shapes to the bottom of the card above, and some beautiful Tranquil Tide ribbon.  The polkadot scalloped oval was die cut using one of the patterns from the Eastern Palace designer paper pack.

Each card features a piece of paper from the Naturally Eclectic paper pack… one of my VERY favorites, as well as a small strip of Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Fresh Florals paper stack.

So.. how about this one… I added a die cut Dragonfly to this card. The dragonfly was left over from THIS CRAFTY EXPERIMENT. when I die cut left over watercolor backgrounds.

Normally, I would not have thought to add the touches of yellow to this card, but I think it worked out great!!  I played up the yellow in the Detailed Dragonfly and added Crushed Curry 3/8" mini chevron ribbon and the yellow glitter dot.

  1. I think all your “happy accident” touches really make the cards gorgeous. That doodley-looking flower in berry burst is so pretty, and those glittery embellishments make the perfect flower center. I think the navy contrasts nicely with the lemon-lime twist – it’s almost a neutral but not as harsh as black or espresso would have been. You put together another fabulous set! 🙂
