We recently had the amazing pleasure of celebrating both of our dads 85th birthdays!
We celebrated with Eric's dad a few weeks early when they came up to the Bay Area to visit, and we celebrated with my dad in So. Cal. in September. Eric's dad also had a big family celebration while we were gone on our cruise last week.
We are So blessed to have both dads turning 85 in the same month!
I will be sharing the card/gift I made Eric's dad in a future post, but today I am sharing a fun gift I made for my dad!
Our family gathered at a restaurant in Sierra Madre in early September to celebrate my dad, Jim Burns (yes, he's the artist).
I wanted to do something with $85 since it was his 85th birthday, so I came up with the idea of putting 85 $1 bills into mini pizza boxes from Stampin' Up! and I came up with this fun way to package it. I hope it gives you some fun ideas for doing something similar!
I stacked 4 Mini Pizza Boxes, and decorated the top one with the Happy Birthday framelit die cut in Island Indigo cardstock, as well as with pieces of the Year of Cheer paper and some gold and silver edged ribbons.
In the top box, I made an accordion fold out of a bunch of 3×3 photos… and die cut 85 with the large numbers framelits and silver foil paper.
And in the bottom 3 boxes, I folded all the dollar bills.
I think he enjoyed the treat! 🙂
Each Mini Pizza Box top was decorated with Year of Cheer paper and photos, too!
Below is a photo of my dad and I with my brother and my brothers 3rd grandbaby, Tucker James. My dad has 3 great-grandkids.. such a blessing!!
And here is the whole Burns gang… my dad and his wife, her daughter, my brother and his whole family, and Eric, Jason and I.
Happy 85th, again, Dad!! We all love you so much!!
Make your own Mini Pizza Box stack!!!
