I received a very similar card from one of my Luv 2 Stamp Group teammates, Melanie Hockin, and I decided to use the idea to create swap cards for the stamping / crafting cruise we went on last week!!  Thank you Melanie for the great idea!

There were over a dozen different swaps we could participate in on the cruise and I participated in 2 of them.  Most swaps had 16 participants.  Jenn, our hostess,  had it down to a science and lined us up and we swapped really quickly!

If you would like to create these cards, you'll find all the Stampin' UP! product supply links to my online store at the bottom of this blog post.

Above: you can see 2 different versions of this card – one with Gold Glimmer paper leaves and one with Gold Foil leaves. Ultimately a I went with the Gold Foil leaves for my swap.

TIP! I actually cut the Gold Foil squares, then punched the 2 leaves from the middle of the foil from square 🙂 to maximize my supplies 🙂

The greeting from Count My Blessings (pg 50 of the 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog) was stamped in Island Indigo on Very Vanilla cardstock that I die cut with the Stitched Shape framelits.  I also stamped the acorn image from the same set in Crumb Cake ink over the greeting, and added a gold enamel shape heart to each card.  It's layered onto the Gold foil paper.

The background is embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder and Very Vanilla cardstock, layered onto Crumb Cake and Island Indigo.  The last color I used was Cajun Craze for some of the punched leaves.

  1. Wonderful idea. I’ve always thought it was wasteful to put full sheets of card stock behind others and not use the parts not seen. Usually with 2, 3 or 4 layers including the base it’s thick enough, you don’t need to worry about the card being sturdy. Thanks Patty Bennett for the reminder. ????

  2. Hi Patty, I love your card… Great idea with the foil. I never think of die cutting like that. It would sure save some paper. I have to remember that. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Hi Patty,
I have not written to say hi in some time, but I am looking forward to your posts everyday. I just have to say, I loved the gift you prepared for your dad. It is so wonderful that both of you have dads that have lived 85 years. Such a blessing for them and all of you. Your family together is also a blessing, as that don’t happen often when people grow into adulthood and have families of their own. Just wanted to say how much I look forward to your wonderful ideas, and how much I admire you. Your cruise looked delightful. So glad you could get a little fun and relaxation. You work very hard. Take good care of yourself.
    Best wishes,
    Karren
