Climbing Roses Card Ideas

I was so excited to spend a little time coloring the Climbing Roses stamp set with my Stampin’ Blends markers from Stampin’ UP!!! I could not just color one, so I created 3 different color combinations and 3 different cards!  I hope you like these card ideas!

I created the same basic 4×4 card layout, with a square of the Botanical Butterfly paper on the cardstock base, then a contrasting color of cardstock and the die cut Climbing Roses image on top. Each one has a different greeting on a different die cut or label.

Flirty Flamingo:

I colored these roses with the Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends markers.  The leaves are colored with Mint Macaron and Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends.  The cardstock is also Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo. The black and white printed layer is from the Botanical Butterfly DSP pack – a free gift selection during Sale-a-Bration! I finished the card by stamping the Sending Love greeting from the Climbing Roses set in black ink onto a Square Stitched Shape die cut. The Frosted Flowers and Share What You Love pearls complete the soft colors on this card.

Highland Heather / Gorgeous Grape:

I originally was only going to color these roses with the Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends, but then I decided to add some Rich Razzleberry and Lovely LIpstick as well!  I like the fun variety!  I added the Frosted flowers and Share What You Love Artisan pearls to this card as well.  I stamped For Your Birthday (from the Birthday Cheer set) in Gorgeous Grape onto a Stitched Label framelit die cut with Whisper White cardstock. The leaves are colored with Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends, with a touch of Shaded Spruce for the darkest part, and the Botanical Butterfly Highland Heather print is mounted to a Gorgeous Grape top fold 4×4 card.   The Highland Heather printed layer is from the Botanical Butterfly DSP pack – a free gift selection during Sale-a-Bration!

Daffodil Delight / Grapefruit Grove:

I colored these Climbing Roses with my Daffodil Delight, Pineapple Punch and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends markers.  The leaves are colored with Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I originally mounted this on the Lemon Lime Twist print from the Botanical Butterfly printed paper pack (Sale-a-Bration gift HERE), and I showed it to my friend Kurstan who suggested going with the oranges and the black/white gingham print from the Botanical Butterfly pack!  I love it!  I used Grapefruit Grove, Calypso Coral and Pineapple Punch cardstock . The little tag with ‘hello’ stamped on it is a Sweet Pins & Tags tag.  Hello is found in the Beauty Abounds stamp set.  I added die cut leaves and Happiness Blooms Pineapple Punch enamel dots to complete this card.

Did you notice on each card, I cut out and layered one or 2 extra flowers?  I stamped the Climbing Roses image 4 times with Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock (below), then colored each of the 3 images with the color combos mentioned above in this post.  I also colored extra flowers on the 4th stamped image, cut them out with my Paper Snips and added one or two to each image 🙂

  2. Hi Patty! These are so pretty! One question, though, is how did you get the artisan pearls to stick to the flower embellishments? I used the fine tip glue but couldn’t get the pearls to stick.
