Confession: I’m not great at Simple Stamping. #simplestamping is something Stampin’ Up! has asked us to showcase and share.. simple 1 layer cards with basically just stamps, ink and paper. I love to embellish and layer with lots of fun paper crafting products on my cards. However, today, my Beautiful Bouquet Floral Wreath cards come CLOSE to #simplestamping!!
Cindee and I created these fun wreath cards together during our monthly stamping day at her house. We used inspiration from the amazing Martin Stone at Martin’s Mayhem!! You can see Martin’s post and video here.
The concept is simple and once you stamp the circle from the Eastern Beauty stamp set (or you could draw a circle) then it’s just a matter of filling in flowers of your choice. We used the same sets Martin used: Beautiful Bouquet, Varied Vases and Eastern Beauty to create these cards. If you start with 3 main larger flowers and then start filling in with more images, stamping largest to smallest, it’s pretty easy to just fill in and find a groove when creating your wreath. All Stampin’ Up! products are available in my online Stampin’ Up! store here.
Stampin’ Up! Color Combos:
- Above: Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove, Calypso Coral (Enamel Dots), Granny Apple Green & Call Me Clover
- Below: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green & Call Me Clover
We stamped the circle from Eastern Beauty in Gray Granite ink (stamped off onto our grid sheet first), and then selected 3 to 4 other colors to use for the flowers, leaves and filler.
You can see Cindee’s cards HERE.. she used different color combos than I did.
Both cards are stamped on Thick Whisper White. The card on the left was just left as a simple top fold card, and I added a Linen Thread Bow (Cindee’s brilliant idea). I also added a punched flower on top of each stamped Poppy Parade flower, for a little extra color. For the card on the right, I cut down my Whisper White panel, and matted it with Night of Navy, then put it onto the Top Fold Thick Whisper White card base. Both cards were embellished with the Happiness Blooms enamel dots… I LOVE those!!!
Hope you enjoyed this idea, and THANK YOU Martin for sharing your talent!
