Thank you for your kind response to my live Stampin’ Blends video tutorial yesterday (watch it below in this post!!) I’m glad you enjoyed the Stampin’ Blends coloring tips for the Celebrate Sunfllowers Card! You can see yesterday’s Sunflower card HERE, and another fun Celebrate Sunflowers card idea below today!
My goal with this sunflower card was pops of color and high contrast, with the crisp, clean embossed white background. I love the Greenery embossing folder image on the Whisper White cardstock layer!
Top fold cardstock base is Bumblebee cardstock, and the sunflower is stamped onto Daffodil Delight cardstock (see video below).
How To Add Stampin’ Blends Colors:
There really isn’t a right or wrong way to color with Stampin’ Blends. I documented the order that I used my Stampin’ Blends markers on this sunflower below. Start by stamping it with Memento black ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock, then add color in the order listed below, or, however you’d like. As mentioned in the video tutorial, I think the KEY is the contrast of dark against light. Shading the petals that are “behind” another petal with darker colors and leaving the tips lighter seems to be key in getting a little more realistic looking sunflower.

Crafting Tip!
Use a Stampin’ Blends alcohol marker to color the Stampin’ UP! Linen Thread!! I wanted some Shaded Spruce thread on my card, so I colored it!! I colored it on the plastic from my Dimensionals just so it wouldn’t soak through onto my grid sheet.
Find the new Greenery Embossing Folder on page 184 in the new Stampin’ UP! catalog or HERE in my online store! Add #152716 to your Shopping List!
The thank you greeting is stamped in Bumblebee ink (from the Flowering Blooms set) onto a die cut from the Tasteful Labels dies.
The greenery sprig behind the sunflower is a die cut piece from the Forever Flourishing dies #152714, cut in Shaded Spruce cardstock. I really wanted this card to have high contrast and striking colors with the white, bright yellow and the spruce!!
