Freezin Fun Slimline card with Stampin’ Blends

Slimline Freezin Fun winter / Christmas card featuring Stampin Up Trimming the Town designer paper and Stampin' Blends marker coloring by Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

OH MY GOODNESS… can you even stand the cuteness factor of this Freezin Fun slimline card!?   I needed a few hours of coloring time, so I grabbed the Freezin Fun set, stamped a whole sheet of images with my Memento black pad, and started to color with my Stampin’ Blends markers!!  I had the best time!

Then I started to die cut the images, but first, I applied Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back of the colored images, and then die cut them with my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine! This is so amazing!

Using the Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back of my colored images BEFORE die cutting is so cool! Look how amazing they look on the card!!

Slimline Cards:

“Slimline cards” are really popular right now on Pinterest and on Facebook. So I thought I’d try one. I pulled a business size envelope out of my office, and measured what size cardstock would fit in it. I cut my Whisper White cardstock to 9-1/4″ x 8″, folded it in 1/2 so that my card was 9-1/4″ x 4″.  Then I cut the Trimming the Town paper with the mountaintops to 9″ x 3-3/4″.  (below).  To make the snowy hills, I started with a 4″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White and used the “snowy hill” die in the Freezin’ Fun bundle as shown above and then used both of the pieces on my card front.

I used the sheet with the mountains for the background on my slimline card. Buy the Trimming the Town paper here.  Check out the samples on page 69 of the Holiday catalog, and you’ll see the fun idea to use this designer paper as the background!

I had a goof…. I grabbed my (retired) Call me Clover Stampin’ Blends for the trees, but you can use any green you’d like.  I’d suggest Shaded Spruce.

The Snowflake Wishes greeting is found in the Snowflake Wishes stamp set #153444. I thought it was pretty cute on this adorable card!!
