Heartwarming Hugs Coffee Cup Cards – Mystery Stamping

Heartwarming Hugs designer paper square cards featuring Coffee Cups from the Press On Stampin UP! set. By Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

I really enjoy my weekly Mystery Stamping Event with my team (demonstrators in the Luv 2 Stamp Group) and my customers.  This week, we created a square card design.  I used the Heartwarming Hugs designer paper and the Press On stamp set from the 2020 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog.

I hope you’ll join in each Friday and upload your version of our Mystery Stamping card to my customer group HERE.  My team really gets into it and we usually have at least a dozen ideas each week!

These square cards are super easy to make.  We started with a 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ base card.  I used Thick Whisper White.  Score and fold in 1/2, then cut 1″ off the front flap. Add a 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ strip of Heartwarming Hugs designer paper to the inside, so that it shows below the front flap.  Then add a strip of designer paper to the front of the card and stamp your focal point in a circle die cut.  Layer onto the front of the card and add your greeting! Simple and quick!

I stamped the coffee cup from Press On in Memento black ink onto a stitched circle die cut, and then colored them with Real Red, or Mossy Meadow or Crumb Cake blends.  The center of the cup is cut out of scraps of Heartwarming Hugs designer paper.

Below: I stamped this fun greeting from the Wrapped in Christmas set right onto the folded card.

I had lots of packs of red Wonderful Gems, because I used all the Gold gems on these cards, so I added red gems to my card, too!

The cute die cut hearts are from the Warm Wraps dies.

I made lots of these cute cards and because of all the fun patterns and color combo possibilities, I don’t think any 2 turned out the same!

Recommendation:  although these are square cards, just mail them in the Stampin’ UP! Medium Whisper White envelopes.  It costs extra to mail square envelopes here in the US.

  1. What a super layout of cards you did. So bright and cheery looking. I love new ideas and card making is one way of expressing one’s self.
