Make a Trio of Easy Square Cards

Quick.. grab some pretty pieces of patterned paper that are 4×4 and let’s make a trio of easy square cards!! I started with the Strawberry Slush card because I had a 4×4 square on my desk with this cute polka dot pattern from the Stampin’ UP! Celebratory Sips pack.

Three square handmade cards with floral designs and the phrase “just a note” in cursive. The top left card is purple-themed, the top right is yellow-orange, and the bottom right is red-pink. All are displayed on a light wood surface. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Here is the easy square card with the Celebratory Sips polka dots and Strawberry Slush card base:

A hand holds a square, handmade card with red polka dots, red and white flowers, green leaves, and the script “just a note” on a white circle. Two more floral cards in purple and yellow tones are visible in the background. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Each of my cards is embellished with stamped and die cut flowers from the Impressions Abloom bundle and the greeting is stamped on a die cut using the Notes & Totes stamp set.

A collection of pink and red die-cut flower shapes, green leaves, and two layered red and pink ovals are arranged on a grid background. Text above reads “Online Exclusive May 2025 Impressions Abloom www.PattyStamps.com.”. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

The Impressions Abloom bundle that I used to create the paper die cut flowers on my easy square cards is part of an online only release from May 2025. Online Exclusive releases do not have a specific time frame for availability, so don’t delay in purchasing it soon! Impressions Abloom Bundle in my online Stampin’ Up! store.

Floral Impressions 4×4 Patterned Paper

My square card below features Fresh Freesia cardstock base and a 4×4 square of Floral Impressions designer paper.

A hand holds a handmade easy square card with pink and purple flowers, green leaves, and the message “just a note” on a scalloped, pink and white circular label. The card has a floral background and “Patty Bennett” and her website are printed at the bottom. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Easy Square Card Dimensions:

  • Cardstock Base: 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″, score in half at 4-1/4″
  • Designer paper layer: 4″x 4″

Frequently Asked Question when I share square cards: do you make a square envelope? You certainly can, but I use the standard A2 Stampin’ UP! medium envelope. The US post office charges extra to mail square envelopes, so I just use the envelopes I already have for 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ cards.

Another Celebratory Sips card

My final square card also features a pattern from the Celebratory Sips pack of patterned paper. See this paper and all Stampin’ Up! supplies below in the Product section – simply click any product photos to go to my online store and click Add to Cart.

A handmade easy square card with a yellow border, floral background, and three large layered paper flowers in peach and pink tones with green leaves. The top center features red script reading “just a note.” Another similar card is partially visible behind it. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

    • I don’t clean them. You may have heard the discussion in my recent video (or past videos) about that. https://youtu.be/hOyZXXjqRpM?si=Q1tFkwGWqfse7WJ9
My suggestion is having a brush for each major color like dark reds, light reds, dark greens, light greens, dark blues, light blues, etc. Just keep using them.. they work best when they have a build up of ink on them. I have one for every color but you don’t need all 50 brushes.. about 9 will do.

  2. Patty, where do i get the envelopes for the square cards? I have family overseas and that is the standard size they generally send my way.
