Oh this is so cute!!! I love this Christmas Wreath Ornament that I made during Melanie’s Christmas in July class!! One of my favorite things about Christmas is decorating my tree with handmade ornaments I’ve made over the years! This one is definitely going on my tree!
We used an empty ribbon spool, and we wrapped it with about 3 yards of Evening Evergreen 3/8″ Chevron Weave ribbon. Depending on the size of your spool, and how tightly you wrap it, you may need more or less ribbon. We used Tear & Tape or Seal+ to attach the end of the ribbon to the spool, then started wrapping!
After wrapping the spool, we stamped and die cut images from the Tidings and Trimmings bundle.
I have a tip for you… if you get fuzzy or overinked images, scrape the ink from the center of the pad (I use my bone folder), and you will see a much better image.. see below!
Above & Below: Using the Tidings and Trimmings bundle, stamp and die cut a stocking image, a cuff, and several of the leaf images and attach them together with glue dots or adhesive of your choice. Now you are ready to place it over the die cut star image and decorate your wreath!
Use Gold Foil paper or Gold Metallic paper (or combine them as I did below) and attach it to a die cut circle, then build your die cut pieces on top! Decorate it with Red Rhinestones and attach it to your wreath with Tear & Tape or Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Gold Cord is a great “ornament hanger”, just tie a knot and tuck it under the ribbon and you are ready to decorate your tree!

TOTALLY AWESOME PROJECT!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I purchased almost all the bundles this year and adding two more to finish it out next month. There are a few I don’t care for, but figured I had enough Christmas and not to get this bundle. Silly me!!! And that’s the one ribbon I said I’d never use as well. Hummm…guess I need to start trying things that don’t always interest me. That all being said, this is going in the cart today AND I need to start taking Mel’s classes. She does such an awesome, awesome job!! Thank you for sharing this Patty. You posts are always so detailed and full of info and instructions. So blessed to have you! Thank you for this! 🙂
yes, I love taking classes from other demos because it stretches me to use things I wouldn’t normally buy or think to combine into a project!!! Definitely hook up with Mel!!
That is a beautiful wreath and a clever idea I would never have thought of. Thanks for sharing this wonderful ornament for your tree. Enjoy your day!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, I love this and appreciate you sharing this. It came out so beautiful Patty! Thank you
It’s gorgeous in person.. hope you have fun making one!
Such a beautiful way to be creative with the ribbon spool. I love it. Thank you for sharing.
Thank You Patty for sharing this with us. I did not purchase this bundle but I will give this a try with one of the other Christmas Stamp sets and Dies.
I am waiting for the Whimsy & Wonder Suite so I might use that as alternate stamp set and dies
Yes, try it with another suite… it will be great!!
Such a beautiful way to use the ribbon spool. I love it. Thank you for sharing.❣️
This is so cute and so very clever. I love it. Thanks so much for sharing! Patty, your blog is awesome. One of my stops every day..
GREAT IDEA, PATTY. I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING I COULD ENCLOSE IN CHRISTMAS CARDS – WHAT DO YOU THINK OF USINE EACH SIDE AS A BASE. THAT WAY YOU COULD GET 2 FROM EACH SPOOL AND THEY WOULD BE EASIER TO INCLUDE IN CARDS.
Awesome post on making this. It turned out fabulous!!
