Not sure if you are like me, but have you seen this design of card online, and thought, wow.. this looks difficult to figure out how to cut this design without wasting lots of paper.. well… great news, it’s easy if you use the Basic Borders Dies… see below!!
It’s pretty simple to take a piece of 4″ x 4″ Hues of Happiness designer paper (or any paper), and cut it with the Basic Borders Dies.
I tried this out with several different patterns from the Hues of Happiness paper, different colors of cardstock bases, various ribbons, embellishments and stamped sentiments!
Color Combo for these cards:
I think it’s pretty amazing how lovely these cards turn out, yet how easy they are to create! Below: Fresh Freesia card bases! Each card base was stamped with the Happiness Abounds set along the bottom in a coordinating ink color.
If you don’t want a top fold card version (shown above), you can rotate the die and use a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of designer paper to create a side fold vertical version of the die cut Designer Paper.
One Last Tip:
I did a little stamp surgery to get the “Thank you dear friend” greeting I wanted to stamp on my die cut!! The stamps are from the Plentiful Plants stamp set.

I didn’t know that die was even in there! Back to the catalog! Thanks for sharing such prettycards.
I’ve been using the cloud die in that set for over a year but didn’t think about that angled piece!
