Cute Gnome Card with Hello Harvest Bundle – Video!!

Watercoloring with Stampin' UP! Kindest Gnomes and Hello Harvest stamp set, by Patty Bennett

Thanks so very much for joining me live yesterday to chat about watercoloring tips as I used the Kindest Gnomes and Hello Harvest stamp sets!  I had so much fun coloring all 4 of the gnomes, and really enjoyed making this fall card with the pumpkin!  Card design idea credit to Tina Wardell!  I saw her card with the Gnome on the pumpkin and had to try it!

If you missed the live video, please watch the replay below!  I’ve got some fun tips for you and will share how I like to add ink to a clear block and use my Water Painter to paint the images.

Be sure you stamp with StazOn ink when watercoloring!  You don’t want the image to bleed or smear.  The pumpkin is from the Hello Harvest set, also watercolored with Stampin’ UP! ink.

This card is a book binding edge card, where the left 1-1/4″ of the card is sealed shut.  It just lends a different and unexpected look to the card design. The plaid 4×4 piece is from the Gingham Cottage Designer paper pack, and the tree branches are from the Sale-a-Bration Rings of Love pack.

I colored some Pale Papaya ribbon with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ blends marker to tie around the card.

Hello is stamped on a tiny die cut tag and tucked under the floral image.  Hello is from the Cottage Wreaths set, and the die cut is from the Celebrations tags dies.

  1. Thanks for another awesome tutorial, such a cute card. I remember you saying that your cruise stops in Victoria. I grew up there and because I know you love flowers I wanted to recommend Buchard Gardens as an excursion if time allows. Thanks again for all your tips, kind regards Shirley

  2. Hi Patty, I am thoroughly enjoying the replay on the gnomes, pumpkin, water coloring. I have been making up a master list of everything I still want from the Holiday Mini and the Annual Catalog. It has taken me some time to warm up to the gnomes, but now that I see them watercolored, it has really made them come alive. I already have the embossing folders and the fall sets, so now I must have the Gnomes too. I can’t wait to practice your techniques…THANK YOU❤️

  5. Hi Patty,
I just ran into your gnomes project with water color. I have been trying to work with water coloring. I have used water color paper, which I really don’t like, and then I have used the basic white paper, which kinda boughs with h20.
So far I don’t feel that successful.
I am going to try your method and see what happens.
Have you had success using water color pencils?
    Thanks for the info
    Shelly
