As I mentioned during my video yesterday, I decided to use my rainbow of Brilliant Wings butterflies on a slimline card. I actually made 2! One (left) is a little cleaner and simpler with just a white background, and I stepped it up a bit for the 2nd card with a rainbow stamped background using the Butterfly Brilliance background stamp. I inked it with several ink pad colors to create the background. I’ll list them below.
Color Combos:
As promised, here are the color combos I used with my Stampin’ UP! reinker bottles, my water painter and my watercolor paper to create these die cut rainbow butterflies.
Here is the stepped up slimline card with my rainbow of butterflies.. I just love it!! I stamped the background of this card, then added a layer of white, and then added the die cut butterflies.. it’s just bursting with beautiful color, isn’t it?
Shop:
Be sure to click the product photos at the bottom of this post to shop in my online Stampin’ Up! store for these products!
The ink colors I used on the Butterfly Brilliance background stamp are: Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana & Tahitian Tide.
Just because I couldn’t stop making this card gorgeous.. I added Iridescent Rhinestones to the card and I love how they pick up the rainbow of color.
Or, for a little simpler slimline card, no need to stamp the background, just add the die cut butterflies!
I always cut my slimline cards to 7″ x 8-1/2″, then fold in 1/2 at 3-1/2″. I use Thick Basic White (as with these 2 cards) or a colored cardstock for the base.
Don’t miss the birthday card I posted here yesterday!

Yes, you registered and Kurstan sent you a paypal reminder on 8/23. Can you check for that invoice on Paypal?
Yes I will thank you for your help
Thank you I paid it and I all set thanks again for your help
Patty, thank you for the video, it’s helpful to see the colors spread! Did you dry the butterflies with a heat gun or let them dry on their own (for how long?) or a combination of both?
I let them dry on their own… about an hour?? I put them on a paper towel and had the fan on… they dried pretty quick .
