Glimmer Christmas Pinecone Card with Gray Granite

Ok, true confessions… when was the last time you used Gray Granite?  Me?  I don’t even know when!!  Thanks to inspiration from Kurstan, this card features a base card and beautiful frame from the Fabulous Frames dies both with Gray Granite cardstock!

The beautiful greenery is die cut using the Christmas Pinecone dies and the Evening Evergreen glimmer paper.

See below for tips on die cutting the pinecones!

You can use any 2 shades of brown for the pinecones, but I suggest a dark and light color contrast and then add some shading with a blending brush for variation.  I used Crumb Cake and Early Espresso cardstock and Soft Suede ink.

The greeting is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and it’s found in the Sweet Candy Canes stamp set.

Below: Again, thanks to Kurstan for this idea.. I layered the polkadot flocked Snowflake Vellum layer over the Boughs of Holly layer and it’s really pretty in the background, behind the frame!!

Lastly, the bow is a die from the Country Wreaths die using the Rose Gold Paper.  Hope you have enjoyed this beautiful, sparkly Christmas Card idea!

  1. Beautiful card! Although I don’t have the stamp set/dies, your tip about light & dark colors and shading could be used with any set. I don’t always think of gray granite for a card base, but it’s stunning on this card. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I’ve been laid up with Covid for almost 2 weeks and missed so many things and this was one of them. This pine cone card is beautiful and love the colors you chose. I didn’t find the video but I’m sure I could put some card together. I have all the supplies I think and will try it. Thanks for sharing. Edna Burgess
