Stampin’ Technique Class #2: Faux Tile Cards
Wow, was this Fun and Easy or what!? Did you enjoy watching the live Technique Class yesterday? If you missed it, be sure to catch the replay at the bottom of this post!
Faux Tile Cards are the topic for our second Stampin’ Technique class, and you can get the free download to add to your files:
This technique is truly so very simple!! Just use the Stampin’ Up! Simply Scored tool and score every 1″ (or 1/2″ or 3/4″) each direction, then stamp over the debossed score lines!
Seriously, that’s it!!
Below: the Faux Tile technique with Starry Sky ink reminds me of the delft tiles you’d find in a kitchen or home. I used the Lovely & Lasting set, the Daisy Garden background stamp and the Eden’s garden set. Please use the product photo links at the bottom of this post to place your online order for any of these Stampin’ Up! supplies.
Above: 2 versions of the Daisy Garden card, left: Mango Melody, Right: Starry Sky.
Below: notice the difference in the outline images and filled in images from the Garden Grandeur set… the tile definitely shows up better with the more solid stamped images.
Above: This Basic White cardstock was scored every 1/2″ each way, to give a much different and smaller scale tile took. I stamped it with Tahitian Tide ink and the Snow Crystal stamp.
Below: Mango Melody, Poppy Parade and Parakeet Party pair with the Art Gallery set for a bright floral faux tile card version!
Above: Butterfly Brilliance background stamp is awesome stamped in Tahitian Tide!
Below: possibly my favorite – the Lovely & Lasting floral image stamped in Starry Sky!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this technique !!! Darker colors are stunning .. I just love your vids. You make me chuckle w/ your laughing and love at the end results of the techniques !!!
I agree, I think the darker colors are perfect!
I am loving your videos of recent and am so glad you are doing this as a series. It is really re-charging me to stamp more!!! Thank you!!! Question-what label/punch did you use on the mango card with Daisy Garden set, the one on the Garden Grandeur with the wishing you everything sentiment and the punch for the Lovely and Lasting card.
Again, thank you so much and congrats on your standings that just came out!! Well deserved!
So glad you are enjoying the videos! Thank you! That die is from the All That dies – one of my favorite die sets! https://www.stampinup.com/products/all-that-dies?demoid=2274
Oh you were asking about several of them.. sorry!
The Mango Daisy Garden is the All That Dies https://www.stampinup.com/products/all-that-dies?demoid=2274
Garden Grandeur “wishing you” is from Seasonal Labels https://www.stampinup.com/products/seasonal-labels-dies?demoid=2274
Lovely & Lasting card label: sorry, can’t remember that one.
Love this technique. It brings back memories of the times before score boards when we stamped on peel & stick label sheets, then removed them and placed them onto the card base to achieve the tiled look. This way is so much easier!
Beautiful1. Love the cards and the tips you always provide! You are such an inspiration. Thank you!
Hi Patty I am new to Stampin Up products and found these 4 technique videos and would love to download the instructions for all four of them, The links don’t seem to work anymore. Is there anyway I could get the links for these project sheets? You are a wonderful teacher and can’t wait to watch all of your videos. Thanks, Kathy
HI Kathleen, thanks for the heads up .. I will revise all the links tomorrow.
