Wow.. this is one of my very favorite techniques: Watercolor Wash backgrounds! I created them with Stampin’ Up! Watercolor paper and ink pads! Please watch the video replay below to see all the details and learn how you can create these, too!
There are dozens of ways you can create a watercolor wash background with lots of different supplies, but I am sharing a super easy way using ink pads, water and I added salt! 🙂 I used my Stamparatus plate, but you could also use a window sheet, plastic or glass mat.
After I created the blue and green backgrounds I was inspired to use the Sea Turtles set – one of my very favorite sets!! I have very special memories of my grandma and her desert turtles… yes, I know they are not sea turtles, but none-the-less, any kind of turtles remind me of my grandma and feel special to me.
Watch the video to see how I used 3 colors on the turtle to give them depth and shape.
A layer of designer paper from the By the Bay package seemed a perfect compliment to the Sea Turtle cards!
I also thought the flat pearls were great on these cards. All of these Stampin’ Up! supplies are available in my online store by clicking the product photos at the bottom of this post.
And if turtles aren’t your thing, that’s ok.. try these great Palm tree dies, or the citrus set I showed on the video.
