Patty’s Stampin’ Up! Rainbow Order 2023 2024

Stampin' Up! Rainbow Order for 2023 2024 catalog cardstock, ink pads, blends, daubers and brushes by Patty Bennett. ROYGBIV

Welcome friends!!

Hold on to your hat, or buckle up.. we have lots to cover today while I share my rainbow order, storage and organization for Stampin’ Up! ink pads, cardstock colors, Stampin’ Blends markers, Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers!!

The Rainbow Order Backstory:

I hope you enjoy the resources below while I share my version of the Stampin’ Up! Rainbow Order!!  A few years ago I switched to “rainbow order” instead of color families.  I decided to give it a try and what I learned was that I was able to create better when I could see all of my greens together, all of my reds together, all of my blues together… you get the idea.  It really didn’t matter to me what “color family” a color belonged to once the product was home in my crafting studio.

The beauty of crafting is, it should make you happy, you should organize things the way it is most helpful and pleasing to YOU, and, here is the really great news…. it’s not set in stone!!  You can adapt and change things as many times as you’d like to best suit your crafting style!

Can I get an Amen?

The Stampin’ UP! Rainbow:

As I mentioned in this video, the Stampin’ UP! Color Coach (download Color Coach) is actually already in Rainbow Order!! So I started with that and found that I really loved that order with the exception of moving a couple of colors around (mentioned below).  AGAIN.. do what works for YOU and what’s pleasing to YOUR eye!

Cardstock Rainbow Order by Patty

My other neutrals, plus white, vanilla, watercolor paper, window sheets, etc., are in a separate paper holder.

I store my Stampin’ UP! Cardstock in Rainbow Order in my Stamp-n-Storage 8-1/2″ x 11″ Paper Holders.  I have 4 of them.  Please check out all of the Stamp-n-Storage paper holder sizes and options here.

My Rainbow order (as mentioned above) is in the same order as the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach, with the exception of moving a couple of the colors around with Copper Clay, Wild Wheat and Crushed Curry.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD your free labels – also in the same rainbow order as the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach.  Bonus labels included.  I used Avery #5167, OR you can also print on paper and cut or punch them out.

Ink Pad Rainbow Order by Patty:

My ink pad holder is also from Stamp-n-Storage.  Mine holds 50 pads, and is HERE.  They offer a ton of ink pad holder options for Stampin’ Up! pads. I’d recommend the one that holds 75, especially if you have some retired colors.  Because I am limited to 10 per column, I chose to organize them as shown above with all of the reds/pinks in a column, then orange/yellow and light green, then blues, purples and some neutrals.   I put my Stampin’ Blends markers above them in the same type of groupings.  My Stampin’ Blends are stored in the Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends Storage units.

I may end up moving a few things around.. we’ll see.. but this is a start, and most importantly it’s pleasing to MY EYE and helps me see the colors together that I need to see in a group to help me be my most creative.

Here is a look without all the text:

Stampin’ Up Blending Brush Storage:

I’m not going to take the time to list all the colors of my 50 Blending Brushes, but you can see I did a modified rainbow, starting with reds oranges and yellows, moving back into pinks, blues, greens and naturals.  I really love my Blending Brush stand from Stamp-n-Storage. They come in all different sizes.  YES, I glued mine together per the instructions and YES I spray painted mine. And YES I labeled the handles with the Avery labels shared above.

Sponge Dauber Storage:

I’ve shared my Sponge Dauber Storage with you before… I LOVE this organizer!!!  I bought THIS Lipstick caddy on Amazon for my Sponge Dauber Organizer. Before you buy, look at similar lipstick caddies.. there are several sizes, LOTS of sizes in fact.  This one holds 40 and is graduated in height as it steps back.  Most are flat, and most are smaller.  I thought I could either get 2 smaller ones, or just get this one.

See THIS POST for more photos of my Sponge Dauber organizer.

Did you make it? Are you still with me?  Was this helpful?  I hope so!!

Enjoy your crafting and creating time!!

Fun Trivia:

If you look at my paper holder photo at the top.. you’ll notice a couple of colors that are almost empty… these are the colors I was secretly hoping would retire and I had not stocked up 🙂

  1. Love this post. An organized space makes my heart sing. You are speaking my language. Thanks as always for sharing all your tips and tricks. Yes, the key is to CREATE! I am on a mission to start using up what I have and stop “collecting”. I am a DSP addict. LOL

  2. Love all your organizing ideas and examples! I have a real issue organizing my dsp. Do you keep much of that? How do you organize the 12×12?
Also- where do all the retired things go? 😳. Thanks for all your ideas!

  3. AMEN!

I keep my CS in rainbow order, and store inks by color family. May have to rethink the inks, except that they’re so pretty to look at.

    • Thanks so much for sharing. I have just tried rainbow order for the first time. I think I’m going to like it better than the color families. I don’t have a business but find organization much easier to find things.

  4. Thank you for posting your rainbow order for the inks. Where did you place Gray Granite, Basic Gray and Smokey slate

  5. Patty, your rainbow colos make so much sense. I tried the alphabet, but when you can’t remember the name of the color that way doesn’t help. So with rainbow colors you can look at what goes together easier. Very pleasing to the eyes.

  6. Thank you for the labels! They are so helpful!! Like you my cardstock is organized by color groupings. However, my stamp pad storage is in family groups for ease of organization. It works for me. I need to reorganize my stamp pads with the new catalog. I am currently working on reorganizing my stamps. I am not a demo so I keep my favorite old stamps. I buy what I like from companies I like. I live in a senior living place so organization is key.

  7. Yeah, I am starting to do Rainbow Order as well. I used to have colors organized by the families like Subtles, Brights etc….but the Rainbow Order just seems to work better when actually crafting. So looking forward to the new catalog!

I love the rainbow colors. Thank you for the download.
What is the shelf under your ink pad storage unit that has the little bowls in it?

  9. Thank you for sharing your rainbow order and storage ideas. I downloaded your labels and will definitely be using them! Do you have little circle labels for the end of the blends. would help identify the colors at a glance. Thanks, Jolene Kent, MN

  11. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You have saved me so much time by making the printable for the paper labels. I really appreciate it! I have a question also, what did you use to have the dark ink print on the ink pads? Some of the colors are SO light and then to have a white background it just makes it hard. Did you just put a strip of black cardstock on the back of the label or what did you do? Again, thank you so much for the printable and tips. I appreciate you!

  12. Patty, I saw this when you did the live video. I wasn’t into the rainbow color order & had my stampin’ pads in alpha in a drawer. Now that I have a bit of time to make cards, I see the benefits of rainbow order!!! I just have to figure out where my retired colors fit in. Your way is so much better! Thank you!!

  14. Hi Patty, I love your organization skills. I am using your rainbow colors for my inks and markers. I share blending brushes with like colors so I don’t have very many brushes. I have done the rainbow with my Blender pens too. Looks so nice. Thank you for sharing your organizing methods. I appreciate it.
