Easel Card idea to showcase my Dad’s Paintings

Stampin Up! crafting with you easel cards featuring watercolor paintings by Jim Burns. Cards by Patty Bennett

One morning as I was waking up, I had this idea… to print out small thumbnail size images of my dads watercolor paintings, and make cards with them using the new Stampin’ UP! Crafting with You stamp set easel!!  I think my family would enjoy receiving one of these.. we all have his paintings in our home and treasure his artwork!!

Below is the Crafting with You set.  I stamped the Easel in Pebbled Path ink on a deckled rectangle Basic White die cut, then cut out and added the small paintings to the easel!

Below: I believe this watercolor painting was inspired by the Japanese Tea Gardens at the Huntington Library in Southern California.  I just love the bright colors in this painting.  The original is hanging in our dining room.

Below: I added ink to the Naturally Gilded paper with a Blending Brush then punched it out with the Best Label punch to make a pot for the watercolor brushes.

Below: One of my dad’s favorite subjects to paint:  Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.
