Thank you for your encouragement on my live video on Friday as I tried out the blue coneflower with Stampin’ Blends!! I love how it turned out and as promised, here it is on a card!

I created a Slimline card with 3 colored and die cut coneflower images from the Stampin’ Up! Coneflower Celebration bundle.

Design Tip:

I die cut the leaves and stems with Two Tone cardstock (Old Olive and Garden Green) to create light and dark shades of green.

A handmade card displays three large coneflowers in yellow, blue, and orange with green stems and leaves. "Thanks for all you do" is stamped in red at the bottom. Markers and a triangle tool are nearby, and the card stands on a grid paper mat against a wood background. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

The background of the slimline card is a piece of Woven Textures designer paper. I drew a frame around it with my Black Stampin’ Write marker and my inking triangle.

A craft workspace with hand-colored paper flowers—orange and blue petals with brown centers—arranged on a grid mat. Green paper leaves and stems are scattered beside them. Text in orange reads, "I kept coloring after my video!" The watermark says "Patty Bennett. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Another Slimline Coneflower card

I wanted to also try a horizontal slimline card and used some floral and geometric paper from the Floral Impressions designer paper pack. I felt like this greeting from You are Remarkable was perfect for this card!

A handmade card featuring two large, colorful coneflowers and the sentiment “Friends are flowers in the garden of life.” The background is green with a yellow flower pattern. Four yellow-orange markers and a metal die are visible in the foreground. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)
Two handmade cards decorated with large, colorful coneflowers—one upright, one flat. Both feature blue, yellow, and orange petals, green leaves, honeycomb backgrounds, and a sentiment: “Friends are flowers in the garden of life.” Text advertises Stampin Blends Markers. 1. I had to write and say how proud I am of you!
I watched your video on the missing six blends markers and your coloring instructions… twice! Then I asked my husband to watch it also.
He is a novice acrylic painter and retired school principal, and I have stamped greeting cards for 35 years and am a retired executive secretary. I’ve been following your classes for about a year now.
We both really enjoyed this tutorial. His comment was, “ It’s really nice that she took the time to explain this to everyone.” I was so happy that he also thought you are knowledgeable, inspiring, and talented. Thanks for your time and teaching!

    • It’s been 6 months since I made it and I mailed it long ago, but if I remember correctly it’s the same as the other slimlines I’ve posted: Thick Basic White card base: 7-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, folded in half (8-1/2″ tall by 3-3/4″ wide) and DSP layer of 3-1/2″ x 8-1/4″.
