Ever wondered about the Stampin’ UP! color wheel, and Monochromatic, Analogous, Complimentary and Triadic colors mention on page 133 of the Stampin’ Up! catalog?
Today we’ll chat about Monochromatic cards featuring Moody Mauve!
For our introduction to my Monochromatic Monday series today, I am focusing on Moody Mauve Stampin’ Up! ink and cardstock paired with the Basic Beige neutral cardstock and ribbon. Per the Stampin’ Up! color theory pages in the catalog, you can select a single color, or 2 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel paired with a neutral, to create your monochromatic projects.
If you don’t have the color wheel Stampin’ Up! gifted OnStage attendees in March, you can reference the color wheel on page 132 in your Stampin’ Up! catalog, and I believe they will be selling a color wheel with Stampin’ Up! colors this fall!!

If you haven’t used the new Iridescent 1/2″ striped ribbon yet, be sure to grab a roll. It’s gorgeous
Be sure to check out the 15 minute video above for tips on mixing and matching the layers of deckled rectangles and postage dies with a mat layer on your card.
I love doing this.. I stamped some greetings with Moody Mauve ink onto the Wildly Flowering DSP and punched them out with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch!
I used Basic Beige as my neutral color for these cards. You could also use white, vanilla or Crumb Cake.

Above & below: ink blending the edge of the Perennial Postage die cut layer adds a little extra color and lots of dimension to this card. Use your Blending Brush and ink with the tips in my video.
Reminder! When you add a layer inside your card, don’t forget a little stamping there too!! The Stippled Rose image is just gorgeous! All of these products are available by clicking the product photos at the bottom of this blog post. Thank You for your online orders!
Below: By stamping the image onto Moody Mauve, and fussy cutting with my Paper Snips, I was able to add the floral images to my card for just a little MORE Moody Mauve! 🙂
If you watched my video above, you saw these 2 cards at the end.. I’m including them here in case you want to save or pin them as well.

Your cards are absolutely gorgeous, do you have card kits for purchase? Thank you so much for your inspiring video tutorials.
Hi Anna, so glad you enjoyed them! No, I’m sorry I don’t have time to offer card kits.
These are very lovely cards ! I have really not thought of stamping just one color. But your cards show it is beautiful to do one color. They look amazing & it is quick. I love that it is something different. Well done idea Patty.
Let me know what color you try out!!
