Sending Love with a Sweet Jar card

Do you ever create a card based on some miscellaneous stamped pieces or scraps you have on your crafting desk? That’s what happened with my Sweet Jar card! I had 2 extra stamped jars from the Sweet Jar bundle and these pieces of polka dot and gingham designer paper from the Turtle-y Cute Designer paper pack all on my desk and this cute card idea came to mind!

I used the polka dot and gingham patterns shown below. Grab your pack of Turtle-y Cute paper in my online Stampin’ Up! store here.

A display of colorful patterned papers featuring turtles, bicycles, carousel tents, balloons, hearts, flowers, and honeycomb designs. Text reads: “Stampin’ Up! TURTLE-Y CUTE DSP #165221 WWW.PATTYSTAMPS.COM/SHOP.” Red arrows highlight a section. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Another new Stampin’ Up! product I used was these new Embossed cards and envelopes. The package comes with 10 cards and envelopes. 5 of the white cards are embossed with stripes, and 5 are embossed with polka dots. I used the polka dot card and envelope from the pack for my Sweet Jar card.

Buy this embossed card and envelope pack online here, or navigate to the bottom of this post to see all products used. Click any product photo to shop online.

A set of embossed white cards and envelopes is shown, with two designs: stripes and polka dots. The text reads, “EMBOSSED CARDS / ENVELOPES,” and notes that the set includes five striped and five polka dot bases/envelopes. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Hot Tip for the Sweet Jar card

If you have this bundle, or you have checked out the images of the Sweet Jar bundle online, you’ll know that there is only 1 size of jar (stamp and matching punch). BUT… did you see on my card that I have 2 sizes of jars???

What I did..

I stamped and punched 2 jars, but for the “taller” jar on the right, I cut it in 1/2, split the 2 pieces apart, attached them to a scrap behind it then “wrapped it” with a scrap strip of the striped paper in this Turtle-y Cute paper, then tied it up with the adorable red and white bakers twine. VOILA.. it looks like a taller jar!

A colorful handmade card with two jars decorated with red hearts, a round tag reading “sending a little love your way,” baker’s twine, and pastel blue dots. The background is polka-dotted and checkered, with the card set on a white envelope. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Finishing Touches include some Rainbow dots and a black border drawn with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker on the Summer Splash cardstock layer.
