Thank you for joining me live yesterday .. I had so much fun sharing my Stampin’ Blends Coloring Tutorial & tips with you! Missed it? Watch the replay below in this post.

My list of Stampin’ Blends Coloring Tips…

I reviewed all of these tips on the live video yesterday, then got all distracted with coloring the pumpkin and the blue coneflower…. so forgot to recap with my top 2 tips:

  1. Start with at least 6 shades of one color… then use at least 4, not just the light/dark combo of one color
  2. Blend when wet, Shade when dry (it will make more sense when you watch the video – replay below).
A handwritten list titled "Stampin Blends Coloring Tips with Patty" on grid paper. Tips include: use more than 2 colors, warm vs. cool colors, color inspiration, mixing colors for 6 "missing" colors, blending wet vs. dry, and top 2 tips. Website: www.pattystamps.com. One tip you’ll learn in the video is how I swatched all the Stampin’ Blend colors. Reds, Yellows, Oranges, Pinks, Purples, Blues and Greens. This immediately helps me to see which shade is the lightest, which is the darkest, and which mid-tone colors I want to use.

A clear box holds pink and red Stampin’ Blends markers beside a floral card partially colored with vibrant pinks and greens. A swatch card shows different marker shades labeled "Pretty in Pink," "Flirty Flamingo," "Strawberry Slush," "Melon Mambo," "Cherry Cobbler," "Real Red," and "Poppy Parade. A Note about the Trays in the video

This is the most popular question every time I post a Stampin’ Blends video…. “what trays do you have your markers in?”. So first, let me just say, I only have them in these trays for the video, so they can stay organized. I don’t keep them that way on my desk. They are available on Amazon in MANY sizes. The 6″ x 9″ size is the one you’ll see in this video. AMAZON LINK in my favorite store.

A stack of clear STORi trays filled with colorful Stampin' Blends markers is shown on a craft desk. In the foreground, there is a stamped and colored floral card. Text at the bottom reads: “STORi Trays I use for organizing my Stampin’ Blends on my videos.”. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)
