Lazy Daisy Embossing Folder projects

Today I am very excited to share the brand new Stampin’ Up! Lazy Daisy embossing folder with you! I know you cannot actually order it until Tuesday, March 3, 2026, but I am betting this will be super popular and I’m hoping you pop it onto your order sooner rather than later.

Yesterday I shared 6 ways I like to use embossing folders and today I’m posting the cards I shared during the video that feature the Lazy Daisy embossing folder. (the other cards in the video will be on my blog in a week or 2).

Embossed Vellum Technique

Lazy Daisy Embossing Folder card. A hand holds a greeting card with embossed floral vellum in blue and white as the background. Yellow paper flowers and a stitched circle with the text “JUST TO BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY” decorate the front. A yellow “Tip! Emboss Vellum!!” icon appears at the top left. My favorite of all the samples I created for this video tutorial was embossing vellum with my new Lazy Daisy embossing folder (reminder: available starting 3/3/26 in the March Online Exclusive brochure). I used Fragrant Layers die cut images using Pastels Shimmer paper for the floral focal point.

Whenever you emboss vellum, it will turn the raised portion of the design into a white pattern, and I encourage you to experiment layering it over lots of different colored backgrounds to see what you like best. I used both Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight for these spring cards!

A handmade yellow Easter card features a textured white floral pattern, a circular tag with “HAPPY EASTER,” a light blue ribbon tied in a bow, and a small bouquet of yellow and white daisies. "Patty Bennett PATTYSTAMPS.com" is watermarked at the bottom. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Remember… add a little special touch to the inside of your cards, too!

Two handmade greeting cards are pictured open, revealing white inside panels. The lower third of each panel is embossed with a daisy pattern. One panel features a colored bouquet of daisies. Text says, "Emboss 1/3 of the inside panel!. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Review of the 6 Embossing Techniques

In my live video yesterday, I shared these fun embossing techniques!

  1. Emboss Vellum
  2. Emboss Designer Series Paper (DSP)
  3. Emboss Two-Tone cardstock
  4. Emboss regular cardstock
  5. Ink an embossed image
  6. Sand an embossed image

Please click the box to download your free PDF Tip Sheet as a reminder of the 6 embossing folder techniques we learned in the video.

Embossing on Two-Tone cardstock & sanding

A handmade greeting card with embossed coral and mint green floral designs, coral die-cut flowers, and a central white label reading "SENDING A garden OF LOVE." A hand holds the card over a white background. Watermark: Patty Bennett pattystamps.com. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

If you’ve watched any of my Two-Tone cardstock videos (learn about Two Tone cardstock here), you’ve seen me emboss and sand with a sanding block.. it’s such a cool technique!

Four pieces of embossed two-tone cardstock in yellow, green, orange, and white with daisy patterns are displayed. A clear embossing folder labeled “LAZY DAISY #167196” is shown in the foreground. Text gives a tip for embossing and sanding for a fun look. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

For the card above, I embossed and sanded Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo Two Tone cardstock for the top & bottom strips. For the center strip, I embossed Basic White cardstock and added Pool Party ink (be sure to watch the video – replay at the bottom of this post).

Embossing Cardstock & die cut shape

A handmade greeting card with a blue embossed floral panel, a white ribbon tied in a bow, and a cluster of yellow daisies. A small tag says “you are loved.” The card is signed “Patty Bennett” with a website, pattystamps.com. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Another fun way to showcase an embossed piece is to emboss a die cut. For the card above, I die cut a Perennial Postage die with Pool Party cardstock and embossed it with the Lazy Daisy embossing folder. Perfect!!

A handmade card features blue floral embossed paper, a white arch with the text “It’s a wonderful day to celebrate you,” blue ribbon, and blue enamel dots. A yellow “Tip!” box points to the card, stating “Emboss on DSP, then sand!!” A hand holds the card. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

One more fun embossing folder technique is to emboss designer paper. The card above featured a piece of blue patterned designer paper from the Nature Walk pack. Since the core is white (like Two Tone cardstock) I was able to sand it to reveal a white daisy pattern!
