Lovely Blossoms is the star of the show

I hope you enjoyed these cards I shared on my weekly live video yesterday. I used the Lovely Arrangements bundle, Lovely Blossoms designer paper and the Joyful Squares bundle from Stampin’ Up! I love to mix and match patterns – you already know that if you’ve been hanging out with me for any length of time 🙂 So I love playing with the Lovely Blossoms patterns!

Two handmade greeting cards with floral designs are above two blue die-cut lattice pieces. A yellow "Tip!" icon and an arrow point to the lattice pieces, with text: "Tip: cut 2 of these pieces, & overlap 2 rows to create a square.”. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Die Cutting Tip

This idea of “square cards that aren’t square” came to me when I looked at the circle die above and thought, what if I overlapped 2 of them to create a square.. then the ideas just flowed!!

Since many of you tell me you don’t like to make or send an actual square card, I used a standard card base but made the front flap square. Best of both worlds. But don’t worry, I also tried a square version!

A handmade greeting card with layered floral patterns in cream, navy, and peach, featuring large illustrated flowers and leaves. The front displays the sentiment “sending smiles” and three beige dots. A hand holds the card, which is partially open to reveal a patterned interior. For just a simple hint of color, I used a Blending Brush and Petal Pink ink to add some color to the stamped flower.

The card features layered papers with white flowers and green leaves, scalloped blue borders, and a large flower embellishment on the bottom left. “Patty Bennett” watermark is at the bottom right. As shown in the video, I love to create Inspiration Samplers to help me see all the designs in a pack of Stampin’ Up! designer paper, and how the stamps and dies coordinate!

A display shows stamped images, die-cut shapes, and sentiments from the Stampin’ Up! “Lovely Arrangements” bundle #167176. Add the Joyful Squares bundle!

Since we are talking about squares… I thought it was perfect to add the Joyful Squares bundle!

Two handmade greeting square cards with floral and geometric designs are displayed on a gray surface. One card says “You’re Amazing in Every Way”; the other says “Hello Friend” with white flowers. “Joyful Squares Bundle accents!” is written below, plus a watermark: PattyStamps.com. Top Left: I stamped the square / circle image from the Joyful Squares bundle and used the coordinating dies to create a fun frame for my Lovely Blossoms DSP focal point.
Top Right: I used the square frame die in the Joyful Squares bundle … and yes, I actually tilted it an an angle for a little interest!! The flowers and leaves are simply stamped in Secret Sea and die cut with the Lovely Arrangements bundle stamp and dies.

And, don’t forget the 4″ squares inside! They are on top of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ designer paper pieces. Be sure to download the PDF for all dimensions.

Two handmade greeting cards are shown open on a marble surface. Each has a 4x4 white square inside, one framed by green floral paper with "Hello Friend" text, the other with black patterned paper. "Patty Bennett, PattyStamps.com" is at the bottom. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Bonus Cards

Bonus designs… I also created a couple versions of these square cards using the amazing paper and supplies left over from my Virtual Card Retreat kit! I stamped the image in Memento Black ink and used my Stampin’ Blends markers to do a little bit of simple coloring.

Two handmade floral greeting cards sit on a crafting mat. The left card says “HELLO” with pink and yellow flowers on pink patterned backgrounds. The right card says “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” with gray and yellow flowers on green backgrounds. Markers are above the cards. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Remember these supplies are in the Virtual Card Making Retreat kit, but it’s still available and you can still access the class online!!! (the cards are AMAZING!. See more info here.)

Two handmade birthday cards are open, showing the inside designs. 1. Beautiful cards, great video! It was so helpful to watch your thought process as you decided which DSP should go where. This is the perfect opportunity to open a pack of DSP, cut it up and play with/arrange, something I’ve never done. 😁 I’ll definitely be trying this.
