I introduced Stampin’ Up! and a variety of paper crafting projects to the ladies at Craft Night at our church on Friday night. They really enjoyed looking at all the things you can make with Stampin’ Up! products and they loved the simple Make & Take project which introduced them to lots of punches, our GREAT Craft & Paper scissors, designer paper, ribbon, etc.
This was our simple Make & Take (with their choice of Cutie Pie paper accent):

UPDATE 9/30/07:
Annette asked: How did you church have a Craft night. Was it your idea or is it something they do? Were you charging for anything or was it all donated by you? Sorry I have a ton of questions. Just wondering how something like that would work.
Our church is VERY large (1,500-ish people) and the Women’s Ministry Program is always eager to get the women together in smaller settings so that we can form closer relationships with each other. One program they have sponsored is "Craft Night". This used to be a quarterly event where any crafter could bring whatever they were working on (stamping, scrapping, knitting, quilting, etc.) and sit and work and visit and of course eat snacks!! I was recently asked to take over this particular program and I have scheduled it for the last Friday of the month. Everyone brings their own craft to work on and a snack to share. This was the first one I had organized and I offered a "free rubber stamping lesson at 7pm". So I spoke very briefly about SU! and all the fun projects I have been working on (my display table) and then at their leisure that evening they came over to make the card project. I suggested that I would like someone different each Friday night to highlight their craft and talk to us about what they are working on. It’s also a great way to get to know each other, put faces to names and remember each other. They liked that idea but also they still want to stamp each time! 🙂 So I will plan to bring a simple M&T each time. (yes, free). We’ll probably do a Christmas item for Oct. and Nov.
Thanks for your interest, Annette, and I hope this helps others who are wondering about setting up a craft night at their church.
Wow, right after I wrote the above, I was checking some of my favorite blogs, and read this on the Proverbs 31 Ministries blog… all about nurturing friendships… goes right along with the premise of craft night and making friends in such a large church!
Boy, your make-n-take card is nicer than some of the cards I have done at paid classes, Patty! I’m sure the ladies enjoyed themselves and you probably enabled someone in the group! Pretty cards.
Great project girlie .. and Love your display table … Looks wonderful !! I realy need to get some cutie pie paper now
🙂

I have been toying with the idea of offering a class for “cards for the troops. But am not sure if I should charge people to be making the cards? Should I be donating it all?
Thanks for the pictures of your table and fun projects.

Patty, It’s a must with the Cutie Pie Paper. The Make And Takes are wonderful and so easy to duplicate. Your project table is great too!!
Looks like you had a great time. Our church does something like this too and the ladies wanted a stamp class last year after the event but I wasn’t a demo then. Now I am and I’ll probably do a class for the church ladies interested.
I need to make more of a variety of projects instead of cards to show Stampin’ Up’s diversity. Anyway, great job!
