Playing with MDS…

Wanna know what I'm doing?

Mds pages

Still wanna know?

Mds crumpled pages

Ya.. crazy, huh?  Now I bet you REALLLLY want to know…

Mds crumpled pages 2

I'm making my own background paper using My Digital Studio and Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla cardstock! (printing on an HP black/white laserjet printer)

I'm trying to make them look like pages from an old book.  Lots of sponging and crumpling…

Here is how my 8-1/2×11 started…. using the VINTAGE OVERLAY "stamp set" in My Digital Studio:

Mds background

then I cut the sheet in 1/4ths and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink, crumpled them up, flattened them out and sponged them again.

I'll post the finished sample Tomorrow. after all my Control Freak Swapper friends get their swaps.

AND YES.. I promise.. I'll have a video tutorial SOON for MDS using the Vintage Overlays and the Presto Patterns Overlay… I PROMISE.. it's on my to-do list 🙂

  1. Ooooh, how ingenious!! Old ledger like paper is my fave! I have MDS but have only opened it once for like 5 minutes, guess I better try again! Thanks soooooo much for sharing! =)

  2. Hi Patty, you are so proficient with MDS, it makes me envious. I am still trying to make some of those beautiful flowered cards that you made with the background paper, but when I try non of the image comes on my card? So very frustrating. I’ve been keeping up, just haven’t had the strength to comment. Things are just O.K. going downhill, instead of up. It is tough. Love all of the roses pictures, thanks for sharing. Keep up the great Blog, I love having a place to come to everyday.

  3. I love the vintage look, and you’re SO good at it Patty. I’m not too sure about overlays yet, so I’m looking forward to your video. I’ve tried the presto patterns with the cardstock, and I find it’s good for whole pages, but not so good for cards….right? Well, you probably have had success with both!! xxxxshirl
