One more fun Matchbook Style card idea for you … a Gumdrop Tree Christmas card!!

Had you thought about extending the life of your Halloween Scenes thinlits and using them for occasions other than Halloween!?   How about a little Candy Cane Christmas village scene! 🙂

So cute and sparkly… with the Wink of Stella accents on the gumdrops and the "snow"… I wish you could see it better in the photo.. it's difficult to photograph Wink of Stella glimmer.. but trust me.. it's there and it's SOOOOOOOOOO cute!

All the fun pieces:

  • I cut out the houses and gumdrops from the Candy Cane Lane paper package (part of the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE sale, ending 10/31/16 – click here).
  • The fence and tree are die cut out of the Halloween Scenes framelits package, pg 52 Holiday catalog #141842
  • Merry & Bright banner: stamped with the Stitched with Cheer stamp set (pg 34 Holiday catalog #142182) and die cut with the Bunch of Banners framelits #141488
  • Ribbon: 1/4" Natural Silver trim, #141485, pg 178 annual catalog
  • Candy Cane Lane pieces: 1"x4" and 3"x4"
  • Real Red cardstock 4"x11", scored at 1-1/2" and 6-3/4"

  1. Good morning Patty,,,, Oh my gosh these are to cute. I will definately be making these all for christmas. I watched your video but didn’t have time to comment,,,, Life it getting a little hectic around here,,,, My 4 yr. old is having some breathing isses,which they thought was asthma, but now they say it isn’t so further testing. My youngest daughter is having surgery on the 8th of Nov. And now my newborn great grandson is going to Hershey Medical today, They are 99% sure he has to have surgery. We will find out more today. But anyways I sooooo LOVE all your cards that you post and your video’s. Thanks so much. I never knew how to make these Matchbox Cards…. Now I DO… Thanks again and have a great day….. BTW, thank you for the Project Life Boxes. I’m going to decorate them and fill them up. I’m thinking nice Christmas gifts, but then again I hate to give them away.lol,,,,,, Have a great day Patty

  2. Oh my cuteness!! I wish there really were gumdrop trees as cute as this one 🙂 LOVE it. I have liked all the different designs you’ve shown over the past few days, but I think this one with the gumdrop tree is my favorite 🙂 I’m going to have to make one just so I can keep it on my desk! Thanks so much for sharing all your great ideas – I love checking them every morning with my tea before diving into work.

  3. I could barely stand the little cute red fence and the gumdrop tree.
    I wish I had all the time in the world to recreate what you share.
    As a fairly new demo (under 1 year) I’m going to go crazy just trying to keep up with all the wonderful ideas that the demos share in their newsletters and on-line. ACK!!!

  4. Patty, thank you for bringing back the gumdrop tree! That is a favorite blast from the past for us. We have some of the molded plastic “trees” from the 1950s on which we stuck candy gumdrops. This DSP is one of the cutest that SU! has ever had, and coordinating it with the Halloween Edgelits is perfect!
