Matchbook Style Cards

I truly hope you enjoyed the Matchbook card style video tutorial yesterday!  I had so much fun making a few extra cards with this design. It's so easy to make and just something a little different!!!   If you missed the video and instructions, click here.

Halloween Night & Jar of Haunts Halloween card - matchbook style goodie treat bag project by Patty Bennett featuring Stampin' Up! products

A few fun finds on this project:

  • did you see how cute the Glitter Silver ribbon looks on this project!?  A fun find for a sparkly addition to a Halloween project!!  3/8" glitter ribbon combo pack, pg 37 Holiday catalog #142015
  • check out the darling tassel!!  I tied it to the Halloween baker's twine.. how fun!! Baker's twine is on pg 51 in the holiday catalog, #142027, mini tassels are on pg 55, #142024
  • metallic foil silver doily… um.. why not?  Halloween can have doilies, right!? :)  Find them on pg 175 in the annual catalog, #138392

This Halloween Trick or Treat goodie bag holder, is the same Matchbook style and it holds a cello bag with treats inside!  Who wouldn't love to receive this little cutie!?  🙂

I used a 4-1/4×11" piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock for the base and scored it at 1-1/2", 6-1/2" and 7", per the VIDEO here.

The Jar is stamped with the Jar of Haunts stamp set (pg 55 holiday catalog, #142247) and the banner is stamped with the Spooky Fun stamp set (pg 52 Holiday catalog, #142236) and the Birthday Banners set (annual catalog, pg 15, #141506).

Paper Goods:

Tangerine Tango card (cut/scored per info above in this post), and Halloween Night DSP, cut to 1"x4" and 3"x4".

Christmas Matchbook project idea:

Presents & Pinecones matchbook style card project by Patty Bennett featuring Stampin' Up! products

Another idea for you … use the same cutting and scoring dimensions and use a different color scheme, and different paper for a Christmas holiday gifty or card!  I used Emerald Envy cardstock and Presents & Pinecones paper (pg 18, #141986, part of the BUY 3 GET 1 FREE sale going on until 10/31/16!).

I used the layering ovals in Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler for the greeting.

Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape adds a fun accent, as well as the Cherry Cobbler and Emerald Envy 3/8" Silky Taffeta ribbon!

Again, you can see the dimensions and watch the video tutorial here
