Maybe it was one of those "you had to be there" moments… but after we made the real red and lemon lime twist card with the round Stitched Shape framelit die cut, we were pondering the design of this card, and Cindee says, "How about the Square Stitched Shape!" It was like a total lightbulb moment!! We are so used to using the circle Stitched Shape framelit!! But I LOVE how it turned out!! She's so smart. :) We agreed that the Stitched Shape Framelits are our MOST used framelits!!! Followed closely by all the layering framelits – Squares, Circles and Ovals.
We decided to make the Peace on Earth greeting POP so we stamped it in Night of Navy ink. You could also stamp it in Soft Sky to match the cardstock and ribbon and keep the card with a much softer feel.
The Foil Frenzy specialty paper (#144125 on pg 189 in the 2017-2018 Stampin' UP! catalog) has colored foiled printed images on heavyweight kraft paper. It's printed in Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Soft Sky and Tangerine Tango. We used the Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist pieces on our Christmas cards.
For the Soft Sky card above, we used Soft Sky cardstock for the scalloped circle and the card base. We used Soft Sky 3/8" classic weave ribbon, and we also used Silver Foil paper for the Decorative Ribbon border and the die cut "stars" (they are really flowers.. but we used them as stars).
This is the real "POP" card… the Lemon Lime Twist and Real Red are SO striking together!!!
The stamped and die cut poinsettias and leaves are from the Carols of Christmas bundle and we put a little rhinestone in the center of each one.
