Stampin’ Up! made a big announcement yesterday!
- A new Die Cutting system from Stampin’ Up! will be replacing the current Big Shot. This is exciting news, as it means that Stampin’ Up! will be working directly with the manufacturer to bring all of us a new die cutting / embossing machine and that we will have more direct control over the design AND availability of products!!
- A new paper cutter from Stampin’ Up! will be replacing the current Stampin’ Trimmer.
How will it affect you?
- There will be a gap in time between when the Big Shot and the Stampin’ Trimmer retire with this current catalog (or sell out) until the time when the new products are available (we don’t know exactly how long this will be, but there will NOT be a Big Shot or a paper trimmer in the new 2019-2020 catalog in June)
- If you need to stock up on some Stampin’ Trimmer supplies, do that soon. They have ordered what they hope to be a 6 month supply of trimmer blades, but they could go quickly. (Links below)
- Continue to use your Big Shot or other die cutting machine with all Stampin’ UP! embossing folders and dies
- Watch for a new style of dies and embossing folders in the new 2019-2020 catalog!! Continue to use them with your current die cutting machine.
- Dies, embossing folders and trimmer accessory items COULD sell out quickly, so shop early and don’t wait for the retiring list on Monday, April 15 to place your order if you have had your eye on any of the current dies or folders!

Tips!
- Be sure to keep your Trimmer mat clean (a little alcohol wipe works wonders), flip the mat often, and then replace blades as necessary for best results
- Keep your entire Trimmer clean and free of extra adhesive or paper “dust” particles, by wiping it down with a cloth or alcohol wipe at least once a month
- Shop now for any supplies or dies or embossing folders you wish to purchase. When they sell out, they are gone.

That really sucks !
Thanks for your comment.. I’m actually really excited for the opportunity to have an improved cutting and die cutting experience. And we can still use what we have if we don’t want to purchase new products.
How often do you replace your trimmer mat?
Of course it depends on how much I’ve used my trimmer. But first, I make sure to clean it monthly, and flip it after about 4 to 6 months.. so I get about 8 months to a year use from each one.. give or take.
Will we be able to use current embossing and dies on new system? Silly maybe but I dont know.
Thanks for all you do.
Will we be able to use the current die and embossing folders on new machine?
Will we be able to use new dies on old Bug Shot?
Can we still be able to use the Big Shot with all new products?
Yes, all current and new products will work with the Big Shot and with other die cutting machines. Depending on the “tightness” of your machine, it may require a shim for extra pressure (a sheet of cardstock will usually do).
Patty, who is the manufacturer of the new die cutting machine? Like Big Shot is Sizzix. Platinum6 and Jennifer Dove is Spellbinders, etc.
Thanks.
will stamping up die cuts work on a spellbinder Platinum 6?
