Best Crafting Tip I’ve heard in a LONG time!

Over the weekend I attended a wonderful card class featuring the Peaceful Poppies suite! We made 10 cards and received lots of great products to use and take home!  Kurstan hosted this class and I learned the BEST TIP from her!!

We used a lot of Peaceful Poppies Sequins on our projects, and I always use a dot of Liquid Glue to hold my sequins on my project.  It always bothered me that the dot of white glue showed through the little hole in the center of the sequin.. well… Kurstan suggested coloring it in with the matching Stampin’ Blends marker once the glue was dry!

BRILLIANT!!

It’s funny how this just this one crafting tip made all the difference in the world for me!!  I really hesitated using sequins until I learned this tip!!  I really didn’t like the white center.. but now I love how the sequins look!!!  Even if you use a glue dot, you’ll still want to color in the center to match the sequin 🙂   Thanks, Kurstan!!!

  1. Hey, that is an excellent idea……….why didn’t I think of that!! I am also in the camp where that white center just sort of threw me off……never thought of coloring the center! Isn’t it great when something so simple really makes a difference in the whole scheme of things!! Thanks so much for sharing. Now I can use sequins & feel like I have a completely finished card!

  2. Another “Duh” moment, why didn’t I think of that? I tend to fill the center of the sequin with a tiny pearl or rhinestone. But, this makes total sense, cheaper, and you can color it to match the sequin or color it something else! Thanks for sharing.

Like you, I rarely used sequins because the hole looked naked.
I would adhere a tiny pearl in the center, but worried the card would be ripped in the mailing process.
    This is so much easier.
