How I prep my Stampin UP! Dies for the New Catalog

Organizing my new dies! This is how I prep my Stampin’ UP! dies from a new catalog using Stamp-n-Storage 6×7 Magnet Cards and 6×7 Pockets, labeled with my Brother P-Touch labeler!

See ALL Organizing Supplies listed at the BOTTOM of this post.

  1.  Gather supplies:   new dies, 6×7 Magnet cards, 6×7 Pockets, print the labels with my Brother P-Touch. I use a bluetooth label maker and type the info on my phone, sending it to the labeler to print.

2. To Prep my dies for the magnet cards, I remove all the Stampin’ Up! dies from the paper cards, then place them onto the 6×7 Magnet Cards.

3.  Label the magnet card and pocket with the name of the set of dies, using my Brother P-Touch.

4. TIP:  Flip the Storage Pocket around, so that the tab is on the front side, this protects all the dies on the front of the magnet card!

6. New dies from the new 2021 Stampin’ Up! January-June Mini catalog all organized!!!  (no, I don’t alphabetize them… but you totally can!) 🙂

7. Last Step: While each Stampin’ Up! Catalog is new, I keep those dies on my crafting desk for 2 reasons.  It helps me remember to USE them, and they are handy to use right there with my new Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (available to customers Jan 5, 2021).

After I have used my dies for awhile, or the catalog is no longer new, I switch them to my Stamp-n-Storage Creative Crate. I use the Medium size withOUT a lid.  See more HERE.

  1. Do you take a picture before you start the process so you can match up single dies to a set? I’ve used this step since it was always a jigsaw puzzle to fit wood stamps into our old clear boxes.

    • Hi, my name is Adrienne and I live in New Hampshire and I’ve been a Stamping Up administrator for 15 years. Just got my pin. Yay but what I do is I take the magnets put my dies on it and put them on the inside of the case so everything stays together, the magnet is right inside the case. I hope this helps you have a great day thanks.

    • Hi Barbara, your comment just reminded me that I meant to include that in the post… I just updated my post and if you “refresh” you should see 2 links at the bottom of the post with ideas of how I repurpose the plastic sleeves 🙂 Thanks!!

  2. Love how you organize using magnets and storage pockets. What are you storing the new ones in on your desk, and how do you catalog/recall what stamps go with the dies for easy stamping?

    • They are standing in a plastic letter holder or napkin holder 🙂 on my desk before I put them in the creative crate mentioned above. I just know which products I have and what goes together in which bundle or suite.. I don’t use any type of cataloging system.

  3. Patty, I too really love the pockets for the magnet cards. But I was surprised to find that they don’t fit in the wooden box (like you, I get the medium, no lid ones) when the magnet cards are in the pockets! I have mine sideways standing in between my 2 boxes. Any ideas for long term storage? When they retire, I do move them somewhere else.

Thanks for all your videos and helpful tips, Patty! Have a blessed Christmas!

  4. I store mine the same way with one lil add-on, I put a small number telling me how many dies are in the set so I know if they are all accounted for. Hugs….
