Happy Father’s Day to Eric, our San Francisco Bay Area sports team fan! Eric’s favorite bay area teams are the San Jose Sharks, San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland A’s. I didn’t really know if I wanted this Hats Off bundle until I got this idea in my mind, then quickly ordered it to make his Father’s day card!!
First Step: Stamp and die cut the hats in appropriate sports teams colors. I used Merry Merlot and Basic Gray for the 49er hat, Bermuda Bay shaded with Pacific Point for the San Jose Sharks, and Shaded Spruce and Bumblebee for the Oakland A’s hat.
As you can see below, adding some shading with the Blending Brushes and ink really adds a realistic touch to the hat, and I was able to alter the color to more perfectly match the San Jose Sharks teal color. The stitching on the Hat Builder die really adds the perfect touch as well!
I wasn’t sure how I would get the team logos onto the hats, so I took photos of Eric’s sports shirts, printed them out then die cut them to add to the hats!!!! 🙂 EEEEK!! I think it’s so cool!
Hats Off Bundle #158361 Available in my Online Stampin’ Up! store!
This is a 5″ x 7″ card (Shaded Spruce card base). I stamped You’re the Best with Shaded Spruce ink and the stars with Bumblebee ink (to match the Oakland A’s baseball hat) onto the Basic White cardstock layer. The father’s day greeting on the Tailor Made tag is stamped in Merry Merlot. It’s from the Handsomely Suited stamp set.

GREAT job on the hats!! I jumped all over this set when I first saw it. The hats are perfect for my husband, 2 brothers, 3 sons-in-law & several friends who are all sports enthusiasts. The shading you did really brings the hats to life! I never think of doing that. BTW: I search online for team logos & then cut/paste & size them onto white cardstock. Works great! Thanks for sharing!!!

Hi Patty.
I loved this bundle from the time I saw it as I love wearing baseball caps and have a collection of over 200. Am doing a similar design for a Seattle Seahawks fan friend of mine in Seattle as well and intend doing them in a variety of teams and sports
