Our 35th Wedding Anniversary!

Wow! I am just astonished at how quickly 35 years has flown by!!  Eric and I just celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary and I thought I’d share our celebration and a fun gift I made for Eric!

Celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary at the Spinnaker restaurant here in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Sausalito, CA.

Eric and I have lived here in the San Francisco Bay Area our entire married lives, and years ago when my parents would come visit us, one of my mom’s favorite places to go eat was the Spinnaker Restaurant across the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge, in Sausalito, CA.  I’ve been wanting to go there for several years, and we finally made it there to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary!  As you can see from the photos, the view is amazing, and looks directly across the bay to downtown San Francisco.  I could sit there all day and watch the boats go by and admire the skyline! In the photo above, the island right above the word table is Alcatraz, and then you can see downtown to the right.

The food was delicious, and the view was absolutely perfect, and the company was the best!  Jason joined us to celebrate our special day.  We also walked around Sausalito and looked in a few shops.  It was really nice to see tourists and a bustling environment again!  It has been so long!

One thing that brought a smile to my eyes was to see a few cargo ships leaving the Port of Oakland and heading out to the Golden Gate Bridge and off to other ports and countries!!  The ports here have been so backed up for a year, and it was great to see shipping moving again!!  We chatted and wondered where all those containers were headed?!

So happy to see shipping resuming in the San Francisco Bay Area

We had decided that this year, our gifts to each other would be new phones. It was a much needed and practical gift, and so that’s what we bought for each other… isn’t that the typical gift for 35 years? LOL

I couldn’t resist making a special card and gift for Eric.  My project features 35 die cut tags and wrote on each one, a total of 35 reasons why I love my amazing husband!!  Those who have been around awhile will recognize the box.. it’s from our Memories & More card offerings several years ago.  I kept a bunch of empty ones and decorated it with Pattern Party paper and a label on the front.  Each tag has a piece of Stampin’ Up! ribbon on it.

35 reasons I Love You box for Eric, our 35th wedding anniversary.

My anniversary card for Eric is a version of the Friends are Like Seashells cards I previously shared with you HERE.  I created an alcohol ink background and arranged the die cut / embossed seashells on the front.

  4. Congratulations on your 35 years. The pictures look like a lovely day and the view was the greatest. If we lived closer would have to try it. We celebrated 65 years this year so I’d have had to make a lot more tags for a box that would be full. After that many years it’s hard to choose a gift but the phones were a good choice. We’ve gotten down to a nice dinner out as what little we need or want we get it at the time. Again, Congratulations.

  8. I feel like it’s a small world. My birthday is June 28, and my husband and I also were married on that day 46 years ago, in 1975. We didn’t do any specialty celebrating. And here in Northern Maine we don’t have the beautiful ocean views and restaurants that you have, but we still love each other very much, and celebrated by babysitting our one and only grandson who is the joy of our lives at 14 months. Happy anniversary to you. I love following your blog, and enjoy your cards and projects so much! Thanks for all you do!

  9. Happy 35th anniversary to you two; my husband and I just celebrated our 64th anniversary – every year gets better and better. Loved your pictures of the restaurant and cargo barges; I miss seeing those – always watched them when we drove to SFO from Cupertino,CA. I love fresh seafood and really miss it since there is no fresh seafood here in AZ. Keep sharing your beautiful alcohol backgrounds.
